I know there's a discussion to be had about MP's accepting gifts at all, but as long as it remains an accepted norm this really feels like a scandal in search of a story. It's not a gotcha to fail to bait a Labour MP into publicly dragging their own leader over the coals, just as referring to Johnson's donations - where he took £180,000 just to decorate a flat - fails to compare to £76,000 over a half decade. I really don't mind having MP's barred from gifting, but trying to honey trap Labour when there's enough to pull apart is going to get old over the next five years.Comment
