"Schoolchildren need more grit" say politicians.

What I hear is "kids these days have too much of a spine and won't just put up with **** like we did, instead they have to protest, waaah, waaah, the earth is dying, I mean for ****'s sake it's only some microplastics-"

The papers and Reform/Tories should be dizzy from the sheer amount of Brexit-Betrayal spin they're desperately trying to put on this. Regardless of what anyone voted, Brexit was not a vote to spend eternity telling the EU to **** off whilst we bleed out on the floor.
      Every news outlet today:
"Kier Starmer paves way in first post-Brexit deal with Europe, WE ALSO ASK NIGEL FARAGE ON HIS OPINION."

This winds me right up. I disagree with a fair bit of Labour these days (I voted for them in the GE because I believed in starmer, not so much now) but this was a good result for everyone involved and yet of course those two ***** Badenoch and farage are asked what they think. I get that the media HAVE to ask them but I think their opinions should be included right at the end of the article in a transparent 2 point wingdings font.

Interestingly, it mentions how this fascist has been featured on GB News courtesy of JR Mogg and also on the personal podcast of a Spectator columnist.

I wrote a whole piece about that but I decided to delete it. I don't want to give that wanker any air.

Morgoth is apt and I’m sure lost on 99% of his “audience”.

So we’re basically back in the EU then for the most part from what I’ve read on the deal, good, f*****g brexit has been devastating for the economy. Not so great for the fishing boats in the deal, but the tuna population will be wiped out in a season through overfishing and the foreign boats will dissipate, as that’s what their desperate for 🤷‍♂️

I do love the brexiteers getting upset though. I remember when the original vote came in and remainers like myself were told to get over it. I did get over it but then every now and then I'm reminded of it, like having to plan my touring through Europe plans around the fact I can't stay for more than 90 days at a time, or having to get in the other queue at borders, or paying I can't remember how much to allow our dog to travel through Europe for the next 5 years (which they just agreed to stop, which is even more annoying because I only paid it in Feb this year and now I don't even need it), or not being able to buy various boutique retro gaming hardware from Europe because they won't ship here anymore. I could tolerate this more if I'd seen some upside to the deal but I haven't; everything people were complaining about and blaming on the EU has just got worse since leaving.

It's pretty funny because all we've done is negotiate ourselves back to where Brexit voters thought we were - dealing with the rest of the EU, but with us having no say in EU rules from where we actually were - dealing with the rest of the EU, but with us having a say in EU rules.

Someone was asking online what the actual benefits of Brexit are, obviously nobody can name them, but I was wondering if it's a criticism of myself that I'm able to make a fairly accurate assessment of someone if they said they voted for Brexit...

I used to spend about 15k a year in spare parts and new machinery with just 1 German supplier I’ve known for 2 decades, that stopped overnight with Brexit due to the paperwork & fees left and right dealing with being out the EU. Doesn’t sound a lot on its own, but almost all his UK customers stopped, so that affected that manufacturer to the tune of probably 300k a year, just a small example but you can times that many fold through the UK & continent.

It’s less paperwork to import from China than the EU, as we are in right now in “brexit” mode so to speak. The common market was and still is essential to the economy.

And that's why it sucked twice as much - it wasn't just bad for the UK. It was really bad for Europe too. It was a lose-lose result.

It's good you recognise this. I don't assess someone by whether they voted for Brexit but I will assess them based on their opinion of it right now. If they believed the lies back then, well, the liars got their message out there better than the remainers did so I can understand it. If they double down though then that's just either pigheadedness or ignorance. Same goes for trump voters; if you voted for him first time then sure, you made a mistake. If you did so in 2024 then you're a ****wit.

How many spears can you make for 15K? Are you starting an army?
