    Thanks DCharlie.

Hoping it's not too humid but it's too late to repack now!

well, you might need to switch on the air con at night, but the humidity out and about is fairly tame. Should be fine

it's BEAUTIFUL right now, wind up a little and a nice temp. so so nice.

Cool. Thanks for that. Sounds like perfect mooching weather!

Edit: Mrs Teddy has just said that as we can't go see a JLeague game she wants to go to a Baseball match Any suggestions? Yakult Swallows seem pretty local.

In Tokyo? Yeah Yakult Swallows or Yomiuri Giants.

Or if you want to go north a bit, Seibu Lions (Saitama), or south a bit the Bay Stars (Yokohama).

You aren't missing anything in the football - the J-League is ****e.

At least baseball is something that isn't done in the UK.

I wouldn't recommend going to watch Seibu Lions at home - you would then have to suffer the rubbish Seibu train lines. Tokyo Dome is in the centre, more or less, and Yokohama is interesting in itself. Very little to recommend about Saitama.

The J-league stadium near my house is the home stadium for FC Tokyo and Tokyo Verdy. It's a neat enough stadium and tickets weren't that expensive. Though it isn't the premier league..

We went to see the yakult swallows in Tokyo in April. Good atmosphere and a fun time but the standard of baseball wasn't as good as MLB when I saw the la dodgers 5 years ago.
We wanted to see some sumo but April was too early. I think the big sumo tournament starts in may which may be worth seeing.

The sumo tournaments are every two months, there is one going on at the moment. January (I think), May and September are in Tokyo - Ryogoku to be precise.

                      Hey, hey!!

Currently sat enjoying a latte in a Seattle's Best in Sunshine City, Ikebukuro.

Weather is pretty ****e at the moment. It started raining pretty much the second we got off the plane. An the humidity...Whoah! It needs a good thunder storm. Still sunshine due tomorrow if the crazy TV weather is to be believed; then the fun starts.

Thanks for the info re: Baseball. There was some on the TV last night and it reinforced the fact we want to see a live game.

Can't wait to hit Akihabara later in the week!! The Japan flavoured World Cup WE10 on PS3 is just out and looks cool and the new Evangelion 2.22 Blu-ray hits 25th with so much associated tat it's untrue! Loads of places seem to be found launch events with random freebies so I don't know where to go - maybe Gamers in Akina or Tower Records in Shibuya.

                      Take care all.

                      Teddster.

We really should have a secret signal so we can tell who is NTSC-UK'ers or not.

And yup, weather looking out of my office looks grim, but i get to leave early today

heh, i'm not a million miles away from that stadium either, maybe about 4 km or so?

ah, no wait - what am i talking about - it's more like 7km - still walking distance.

as loathed as i am to say it, go to a Giants game if you can. The Swallows games are at the mercy of the weather, and the area around the Giants ground is pretty awesome.

Really enjoyed the last trip to the game - even if the giants won

23rd - 24th - Giants play Orix at the Dome
26th - 27th - Giants play Softbank at the Dome

the 26th - 27th games on week days should make it easier to get tickets.

                            OMG!!!

Japan are playing South Korea in an international friendly tomorrow evening in Saitama. I've checked trains and it should be very easy to get to the stadium. My only issue is tickets. Where can I get them? Can I expect to get them on the door or are pre-sold?

Well, Im back. Wish I wasn't but there you go!

Another great flight with Virgin - no panic attack from Mrs Teddy either so that was a bonus!

It usually takes a bit longer for the "ah man, I'm back from my hols" feeling to kick in but it's already happened after going into WH Smith to buy a drink only to be greeted by a surly shop assistant and crap selection of beverages!

I wants my Calpis, Pocari and Green Cola dammit!!

Buy some chocolate and Ribena asap. Two things we do miles better than the Japanese. I'm pretty sure I barely had one soft drink to match the might of Ribena on both my trips. Even that grape Fanta which my mates were raving about didn't sway me.
