best place to get currency?

the post office has a low rate (228. when actual is 241. per &#163, which means im paying £35 on 650
the halifax's no-comission is even worse (all hidden in the rate they give you)

We usually get from the Post Office or Travelex online and pick up at the airport as between them they are generally the cheapest.

Marks and Spencer's are selling Yen at 231.820, which is pretty good if you dont want to use Travelex.

The JPY is so weak right now (or is GBP strong?). You guys must be loving it as when you come over, well it's cheap. A 60GB PS3 for about 250 GBP? Thank you sir.

if a 60gb is around £250 can I expect to find a 20gb for around £200? (although i suspect they are low and stock... and it isnt top of my list)

In Tokyo at the moment and only seen a few places that have the 20 gig version - most of which are second hand.

Yodobashi Camera have 20GBs for 49,980 JPY which is about 210-220 GBP depending on what exchange rate you get.

Actually it seems that the 60GB is around 260 -270 GBP at the mo.

Lowest I`ve seen a 60 gig ps3 for was about £225 - but I`m sure that was second hand.

One thing I have found handy on this trip is one of these train pass things (oyster card for Londoners)

You pay Y500 deposit on it and just top it up once in a while, if you should happen to run out of credit on it you can top it up on an adjustment machine.

On the PS3 topic we have them in a couple of stores fo about 5,000 second hand, so about £210 or something on today's exchange rate and believe that's for the 60gb version. It will be cheaper down here in Kyushu though as it is the 'country' as such. I prefer it gamewise down this end of Japan as stuff seems a LOT cheaper than in the big cities, especially Osaka.
