Well the undefeated run had to come to an end at some point, but very disappointing that we chucked away the lead by setting up their second and third goals with poor individual errors. Can't complain too much about a defeat when it's our first in twelve though.

It was a missed opportunity though as we were bossing it when we made the mistake to let them back in it, shame we couldn't have made it 3-1. Fair play to Liverpool though, they took advantage and worked hard for the win, definitely getting better as the season has gone on.

Hopefully we can get through with a minimum of fuss against Inter and then start another good run against Fulham in the league.

It was an enjoyable encounter and once again Bale was great. Tottenham have really come on and AvB has done a superb job with what I felt was a slightly weaker team than the one with Modric.

Entertaining game but I had to switch off when Liverpool went 2-1 down as Spurs were bossing it and I could see them going a few more goals in front.

Bale looked very good. Every time he got the ball I was worried - guy can create chances out of nothing.

Extremely impressed with Coutinho again. His movement and touch for the first goal was class.

Maybe liverpool can make it into the europa league place now? such a stretch to see them moving any further than that up the table.

Losing Modric and Rafa VdV took a massive chunk of creativity out of the side, so I agree that you have to give massive credit to AvB for overcoming that with the way he sets up the team. The progress of Bale has obviously helped too, but his skills are very different to those that Modric and VdV brought to the team.

They had a look at Liverpool's run-in after the match and it looks pretty decent. If Liverpool can keep their form going I think you've got a good chance of a European spot. You probably need too many teams to drop points to finish in the top four, but stranger things have happened, and you've got Suarez who just keeps on banging them in, so who knows?

I too was worried when Liverpool went 2-1 down. Sigurdsson hitting the post when he should've made it 3-1 was the turning point in all honesty.

Full credit to Spurs - there's no denying that they have a quality manager in AvB and that they've been run as a football club far better than Liverpool have been in recent years, which is why they are top-four and we are not. Quality team and squad. Liverpool need to be looking to emulate how Spurs do business.

Liverpool will need to finish 5th to guarantee Europa League football next season - the FA Cup Europa League spot will go the runner-up (Blackburn, Wigan or Millwall). We need to keep the momentum going and build on this result.

Yeah I thought Liverpool played well too, it was a nicely balanced game. They have come on nicely in recent months and I do enjoy watching them a lot more than I have in recent years. Suarez is integral to that of course but Sterling has been exciting at times and I enjoy watching Enrique. Coutinho looks a good buy too.

Spurs are a tough one though. I like Arsenal the most but don't particularly support them. I want to see Arsenal in the top 4 but I don't want Spurs to drop out either as they are a joy to watch.

So Chelsea dropping away and Spurs and Arsenal getting the CL spots would be the ideal outcome for you

Personally, as long as Spurs qualify for the CL, I don't mind who else gets there. Just as long as we don't mess it up!

Yeah pretty much sums it up. I think Tottenham deserve it this year more than ever before. Still a little way to go but they have kept going and been more consistent. Even doing well in the EL. Chelsea dropping out wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

As much as I'd like to see Liverpool make a late run into the top-four, it's simply not going to happen - too much ground to make up on the teams above.

Really cannot see Spurs failing to make CL this year - for one, it's not like any Prem side will win it this year!

If Arsenal make a miraculous comeback to knockout Munich though, I'm gonna be s***ting myself

Ohhhh, this is going to be a fun end to the season!

Spurs fans will never hear the end of it if Arsenal manage to win it and finish 5th!

Unless we finish higher than 4th. After what happened at the end of last season, I'm sure the players will be trying doubly as hard to maintain good form right to the end of the season. I hope

Man Utd, Man City, Spurs, Chelsea, in those positions, i'd put money on it.

No I think if you look at goal difference Chelsea are more likely to end up third.

If Spurs had won against Liverpool I'd be saying we'd have a good chance of finishing third at the very least but, unforgiveably, we gave away the chance of getting within two points of Man City and five points clear of Chelsea. That Liverpool equaliser was a complete farce from start to finish and what Defoe was doing kicking the ball back into the box and led to the penalty I really can't understand.

Now any more mistakes Spurs make will allow Chelsea the opportunity to leapfrog, Man City to draw even further away and, worst of all, Arsenal to close the gap. It'll be down to what those teams and maybe even Liverpool do too. It might still work out well for us, it is still in our hands but by losing to Liverpool Spurs have put unnecessary extra pressure on themselves.
