Still, hopefully Lampard and Terry will be at full fitness for saturday
there was one bad tackle in the first 5 minutes and the newcastle player was booked
Kalou and Beyiyoun (spelling) both pulled up with nobody in touching distance with what looked like hamstring issues, but both players ran and ran until they were injured so the injuries were caused by them trying too hard
apart from that there was nothing else
Chelsea's vision and the passing of the ball were incredible especially Anelka, subbing Terry at half time proved a costly mistake by Ancellotti
i enjoyed myself and Stamford bridge is a pretty tidy stadium and the seats were excellent
Alex is a diving git, totally conned the referee
but if a team won a game on skill, Chelsea were by far the better team
ninja edit
neither team fielded a full squad, so you can say none of them are really that interested in the carling cupLast edited by buster_broon; 23-09-2010, 11:55.

Fairly happy with that first half. City didn't look dangerous.
Ref doesn't seem to know what a block is, a couple of blatent blocks (one should've been a penalty). Man City have been deliberately physical and the ref is allowing a bit too much.
Only downers was a bit of a lack of commitment up front and Mikel giving the ball away far too dangerously.
Deathly quiet at the City of Manchester though, Chelsea fans were outsinging city for large parts.

Chelsea have been attacking but they're not got the space to 'turn it on'.
An interesting thing would be to take off Anelka (who City have been cancelling) and put on Kakuta. Don't think Ancelotti would take that sort of gamble though, even if he was the type to make non-fitness related subs at half time.
