It seems there's two things going on here. There was what the police believe to be a pre-organised ruck between Millwall and West Ham 'Ultras' outside the ground. The tensions from this then lead to the pitch invasions during the match itself, which was pretty much only West Ham fans coming on.

They did limit the number of tickets which were available to Millwall fans to only 2,300 when they could have had over twice as much as per cup rules. This would have made things better seeing as a lot of Millwall fans just turned up without tickets in the hope of getting in.

Secondly, tickets for the match were on general release for the West Ham ends. Anyone, intent on causing trouble could get in. I wouldn't be surprised if the odd Millwall fan ended up in the home ends. Why didn't they limit tickets to season ticket holders and members? Any game at the Den involving teams which Millwall have had a bit of trouble with in the past e.g. Leeds are only available to season ticket holders and members.

Finally, there should have been more police.

But, to be honest even if you had done the above there still would have been trouble. It just might have been better contained.

              Yes!

And it's become an awesome opportunity for Posh, since half the Blackburn squad have swine flu, and they're rubbish enough at full strength.

Posh are down to ten men after our keeper got red carded, but have equalised - it's 2-2.

                FFFFFUUUU

It's all gone a bit weird down at Barnsley v Man U. There's riot police in front of the Man U fans, and some Barnsley fans have come onto the pitch.

Yet the games not been firey, no real controversy of any kind.

                    Weird.

Sort of behaviour I expect from Barnsley to be honest.

4 Barnsley fans and 4 Man U fans arrested at the game. Apparently some fans (it's not clear whose) broke into one of the food stands and trashed it, stole the money etc...

And 2 more fans were arrested later for jumping onto a railway line to try and stop a train leaving.

It's the bloody Carling cup FFS. Ban the lot of em for life.

Both Guardian and the Express are placing the blame largely on Man U fans. The BBC for whatever reason aren't reporting on it at all.

The whole "Owen has made things very difficult for Fabio!!!" thing is a bit stupid. It's not hard to look good against awful defenders.

That's quite a disappointment - 3-1 defeat on penalties. All those whupped players and they should have just tossed a coin.

The competition is looking pretty strong this year. Unless Man City suffer a shock it's going to be an all Premiership last eight with a lot of fancied teams in there.

Liverpool should've had a last minute penalty really (both arms up). Two good goals but lots of awful finishing and bad passes
