I remember that myself and been waiting over forty years for another Spurs win in a European competition. Now they've done it - brilliant result.

Pity the game wasn't any better and the goal was a bit of a scrambled mess too but that is how to win something like this. When it is so important you win you get it over the line even if it is not pretty.

So satisfying that is has finally happened and I'm still around to see it. Well done - just hope there is more to come soon as I'm definitely not going to be around if it takes Spurs another forty plus years to do it again.

Thanks very much good sir, and I'm glad we were able to make your dreams of Man Utd misery come true!

Nah, that was a wonderful and absolutely beautiful game of football! I don't think I've seen a match as good since, ohhhh, 24th February 2008

I was four years old when we won that UEFA Cup, so for me the wait has been to have a memory of my own of us winning a European trophy, and it's finally here!

So so happy to see Sonny lifting a trophy as Spurs captain, and Ben Davies too, two players who have been with us for 10+ years that finally get a trophy winning moment after all those near misses. Beautiful

Tactics spot on from Ange. With all our most creative attacking players injured pretty football wasn't the way to go, all about the hard work, the pressing and defending without the ball.

Fitting that Brennan Johnson got the winning goal to cap off being our top scorer this season, but the iconic image from the final will be that amazing Micky VDV goal line clearance. That's going down in Spurs folklore and decades from now fans will know instantly what you mean when you say "the VDV clearance".

Anyway, brilliant, just brilliant, so happy, Christmas come early! Agggghhhh, we did it! COYS!!!

I remember watching the 1984 final on TV. Dunno why it's one of my earliest, non-LFC footballing memory. I would have been 8

As I've just spent my day doing nothing but looking at photos and video clips of the final, thought I'd post a few favourites here

Final whistle / trophy lift / post match celebrations, no music or commentary:

The Micky van de Ven clearance:

Pape Matar Sarr being every Spurs fan in the final minute:

You have to insert all into your very soul. Who knows when the one comes along (that goes for every team). Enjoy it, slurp it up, regurgitate and consume again! XD

Aussie press going gaga as expected. Ange will probably still get the sack, but hey Spurs back in the champions league so good for them. I read Spurs have been super tight on spending and they have been injury ridden all season. So fair play they actually won something. BTW I know nothing about soccer there is only 1 football and it's not association JK everyone I love you all
