    Gerd Müller (1945 - 2021)

Bayern Munich and Germany legend Gerd Muller dies at the age of 75.

Gerd Müller has passed away at the age of 75. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2015.

A legend of Bayern Munich and German Football. Arguably the greatest goalscorer of them all.

547 goals in 594 competitive games for Bayern. 68 goals in 62 appearances for West Germany.

Muller held the record for the most goals in a calendar year after scoring 85 in 1972 until Lionel Messi surpassed his total in 2012.

His record of 40 goals in a Bundesliga season stood for 49 years before it was broken by Robert Lewandowski in May.

An honours list that speaks for itself. RIP.

Before my time but anyone who loves football will know about him, and his history in the game speaks for itself. Always a shame to lose such a legendary figure.
