Here we have my 3rd Generation iPod 20GB that I have had since purchasing new on launch.
Since then I've replaced the battery with a 3rd party one, and to be honest it probably needs replacing again as it doesn't hold much of a charge, the kits can still be bought on ebay for around ?5 I believe.
Some of the items are still sealed in the box such as the firewire adapter, dock cover, spare headphone fabrics. I have looked after the unit while I've owned it and while it does have a few marks on the chrome backing, the front is very nice and the screen has no scratches other than a couple of superficial marks, its certainly not the worst iPod I've seen for its age.
It comes with:
Official Dock and connection cable
Official Case
3rd party USB cable which I will include
Software although it'll be out of date now
Official headphone remote (never used)
The headphones are missing as you know how fragile these can be, the hard disk has no errors or reading problems, to be honest the machine was lightly used and always almost in its case.
To reiterate, you'd probably need a new battery kit for it (on ebay), and any set of headphones, or a cheap 'official' white pair on ebay, and thats it.
The item is also fully boxed, has everything it came with, all documentation, software, and is just missing the headphones.

edit: I've noticed the flash is making it look a bit dirty on the front in the pictures, but its really not, its actually very clean.
