I was in town today and noticed Far Cry to in HMV for ?27.99 brand new, not Re/Play, and was tempted to get it but I didn't because I've got too many games to play at the moment.

It's only amazon that offer price guarantees like that, and that's only against their own price, not anyone else's - unless of course you've not opened your copy.

But I feel your pain, I got stung on LittleBigPlanet, dropped by £10 just a couple days after my order turned up.

Same for me - I've bought Far Cry 2, LittleBigPlanet and Dead Space recently but have been holding them back for Xmas. I probably could have saved £30 if I'd waited a few weeks!

I've noticed the prices have already dropped to £30 in store today (in manchester at least) with the collector's editions coming in at about £39.

Obviously already mentioned about it being 27.99 in store at game, but they also have the GAME Collectors Edition for 32.99 as well, which comes in a wooden box, with a map, a "making of" DVD, and something else that escapes my mind - still 48.93 on their website.

I have taken advice and am told that this is "wood effect packaging". This is being judged on the overall weight of the game and contents and the fact that if it was a real wooden box the weight would be expected to be over 1kg, which this isn't.
