    MW2 for ?25?

Buy 2 copies of Overlord 2 from Play.com for ?10 per item, then use gamestation's trade in and pay ?4.99 for MW2

Someone mentioned this in the headlines thread, but I'm not sure they'd accept two copies of the same game would they? A mate at work is considering trying it... I'm just not going to support their RRP.

Good point re: 2 x same game. Maybe there's another than can be used as well.

Also, I still won't do it because I don't want to rip off a retailer just to pander to Activision's nonsense pricing.

I read elsewhere that they won't accept two copies of the same game.

I think it was on RLLMUK - the guy worked in Gamestation and said he really weren't looking forward to the angry hoard of people who were going to find out that they were lumbered with an extra copy of Overlord II.

This has a good chance of back firing, there is a massive thread about this on HotUKdeals.

On the plus side, anyone who wants a REALLY cheap copy of Overlord 2 should pop into their nearest Gamestation soon ;-)

wild rumour going round that tesco are going to knock out at £25 as a loss leader to get people in there door, not risking myself, but if you dont want to pay full retail and are passing tesco next tuesday might be worth a look

This is exactly why people should read the Ts & Cs of an offer before getting excited at trying to play the system!

(says the man who tried to get one over on Sony with his US PSP Go and the Rewards scheme )

It does say that the manager can limit the number of trade-ins (or something like that!) in the T&Cs however that doesn't really clarify the situation properly so you can't really blame people for playing the system. A few months after the PS3 launched I bought 5 copies of Genji from Play.com for £14.99 each then traded them in at Gamestation for £30 each, no-one said anything. Kept my game purchases going for a good while that credit!

At the end of the day it is up to manager and if he/she wants to make a big deal of it. The customer could also cause a big fuss over the situation (call head office or something) and in the end get what he/she wants. I bet you some stores won't really mind how many copies of Overload they get traded in.
