Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows ?17.99

Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows £17.99:-

I have been waiting for the price to drop on this for a long time, since Microsoft seems to have discontinued the separate Windows 'crossfire' wireless adaptor (Apart from the clones/fakes on eBay) and they now appear to only be sold bundled with the controller.

This is a good price for just the Xbox 360 controller (Although both amazon's and play's prices for Xbox 360 controllers all seem to have dropped to £17.99 in the last few days) but since this comes with the Windows wireless adaptor as well its a bit of a bargain!

One thing to keep in mind is that apparently the wireless adaptor requires quite a bit of power from the USB port, and I have read that some people had to use a powered USB hub to make it work - although Microsoft might have improved the design since it was first released(?)

(As a side note a big thanks goes out to the Firefox add-on 'PriceDrop' for informing me of this deal:-

I highly recommend it for keeping track of amazon's constantly changing prices)

From 2 years ago. A more recent comment states it's the controller only.

The "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows" is only sold with the wireless adaptor - there would be no point selling the wireless controller without it as then it could not be used on a Windows PC as advertised.

For reference here is a picture showing what the packaging should look like:-

I can only assume the later comment on amazon was from someone who received the wrong item, or bought it from a marketplace seller etc.

or didn't buy it at all and just thought they'd stick their nose in?
