Well there are various auto installers on there for picture galleries and stuff. Or, you could install wordpress (there's an auto script for that too) and then get a nice free wordpress theme somewhere and that'd be a good starting point. then she can update text and pics herself with relative ease.

Forgot to mention I used Joomla for this and a customised standard template for the site. Quite interesting to set up and there's some wicked (paid) templates out there but not the most straightforward of things to use..

Joomla is a nightmare. It was created by uber geeks with no thought to usability (only scaleability and future proofing).
