I was looking on the PC World web site earlier and noticed those. Just checked again and they have the 32GB and 64GB models in stock for ordering online for home delivery.

Saw these instore at the weekend. They look nice but Blackberry? Is that not really a dead tablet platform? Or is there good support for it?

I thought RIM were in trouble. Is this going to be a wise investment?

Depends what you want it for its lovely as a web browser (has flash too) and YouTube and a media player (all I bought it for) but it is possible to root it to get android marketplace (but it's difficult) I couldn't be arsed personally

It's probably worthwhile if you have a Blackberry and use the Bridge software. Then you can carry your BB around in your bag and use your Playbook to do all your emails/BBM etc. At least that's my understanding - I recall when it first launched practically none of that functionality was available though, probably one of the reasons it failed to make an impact.

It's supposedly more functional since 2.0 as you don't need a BB to access things like mail etc.

I quite fancy a tablet, more portable than my laptop certainly. Being able to access work documents on a commute would be a fairly large positive.

Going slightly O/T but like Daragon, a nice way to read docs away from desk would be cool. I got it into my head that the best way is to get a Kindle DX. I reckon it'd be nice to read tech docs on that device. Sadly never released over here. </OT>

Someone I know got one from a dev conference giveaway and said it was utterly poor, not sure what unit he had though.

Just been googling. An awful lot of average reading reviews out there.

Cheap Chinese android tablet, it's fantastic when you consider you can have a 64gb version for 3 times less than an IPad and cheaper than a 8gb itouch. I'm very happy with mine but I only bought it for Internet and media stuff

Just bought a 64GB from PC World this evening. Are they still fairly straightforward to sideload android apps?
