Hell of a game and the best option if you don't want to play it on a handheld.

Isn't there a demo of it on Wii U store? there have been demo's of the two latest 3DS versions.

Definitely. It needs some time to learn and understand it and you should be happy to play with other randoms. I played for 10 hours and thought it was ok then I went online and my first multiplayer game was a revelation. In an instant I understood why people rave about it so much and I fell deeply in love with it.

There is a demo up and I played it a couple of nights ago and there were several hundred people still online with it.

Not a huge fan of the demo as it dumps you in some high level monster fights without any of the background or the tutorial. I hated the demo but loved the full game.
