Worst deal I've ever had on this forum
In fact only bad deal I've had on this forum!
Bought this 'universal' DC 'boxed in perfect condition'
http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread.php?t=57303
Received DC in tatty box, with some ropey (and rattley!) old controllers, i.e., damaged leads, etc.
I never complained about the condition, because it was just the console I was after really, and technically, he'd only stated that the console was perfect.
Console wouldn't boot the one NTSC game I own, or a lot of my standard PAL games either.
Main problem = simply getting the DC main menu screen prompting me to insert a disc.
When I contacted him, he basically messed me around on messenger for the good part of an hour trying to convince me that although he clearly did have problems with it himself, I didn't deserve a refund as he had done nothing wrong, because it did 'work' with some of my games!!!
Started to get the feeling he really didn't want this console back
Even when I offered to post it back at my expense, and for him to refund the money minus his postage expenses (so I'd just be down ?30 instead of ?50), he then insisted I return the console 1st, and he would refund me the money at the end of the month....or when he had it
Told him to keep the money in the end as it just wasn't worth the hastle.
Well pissed off!!!Last edited by markpsych; 05-06-2006, 09:41.

The condition of the console was never brought up and I provided pictures on the thread so finding it a little strange that now he isn?t happy with the deal he decides to mention it?
As for compatibility with his games I never tried to mislead him in any way all the games I had worked perfect with the exception of resident evil cv which I explained had a tv display issue which was solved by moving to another television set.
I wouldn?t see it as me ?messing him about? I saw it more as a conversation to try and find a solution. I never once said he didn?t deserve a refund I merely said I wasn?t willing to lose ?10 on postage costs just because the console didn?t play a small number of his games.
I?m not going to try and make mark look bad because I?m not that kind of person, up until he had the problem with the console he was a excellent buyer.
As mark says I did want the console back first because mark was becoming quite hostile and a feared I wouldn?t receive the console back if I had refunded his money first. I couldn?t refund the money until the end of the month because that when I get paid I would love to say I have an endless amount of money in my bank account but that?s sadly not true.
As with everything there is two sides to the story I?m sure anyone reading this is smart enough to gather their own opinion.
