Surely this is a bog standard figure 8 cable? Although you'd need a stepdown for the UK. Or is this gonna be used in the US?

Bog standard figure 8 cables through a stepdown are fine on the old PS2's, mine's actually got one from an old CD player in it at the moment.

Are thes not the shape that look like a 'keyhole' instead of the figure of eight style?

Im sure the figure of eight lead will fit but I do know the shape on a US Spec PS2 is not a figure eight style.

I might have a spare but will have to look

The US spec has one of the circles in the figure of 8 as a square.. Otherwise it's the same and the figure of 8 fit fine.

this console will used in the UK. Ive tried the power lead from my jap console but it didn't work

The JPN cable should work fine. It's exactly the same as the USA one, barring the physical shape.

You can get them on eBay for dirt cheap.
