Want to buy or borrow disc 1 of FFVII

Yet another long shot, but I want to play FFVII again, and my disc 1 is not working! WTF!

Failing that, which shops will clean the disc for me?

That would be great. Buuuuut do you think a save file from a US disc 1 would carry over to a PAL disc 2?
