WTD WTD: Modded PS2

I'm after a modded PS2 that plays NTSC and PAL games from all regions at the correct speed - my Modbo PAL unit mostly plays imported PS2 games at PAL speeds with a fat border at the bottom of the screen which is no good.

Ideally looking for a fat model with a controller.

Hi.

That shouldn't be the case for a modbo unless it has been set to force PAL video in the modchip menu. Try booting while holding Triangle and Circle on controller one and see if "PS2 screen fix" is set to PAL, if so set it to off.

Thanks for the reply - there is a fairly important typo in my original post in that it's actually PS1 games that play at PAL speeds and PS2 games are OK. Since posting however I found the "Mechapwn" exploit which has allowed me to set my PS2 region to USA and all my PS1 games now play in NTSC mode, with PS2 games in whatever their native region is, which is what I was looking to do in the first place and probably could have achieved without a modchip.

TL;DR - no longer needed.

Ah! That makes more sense certainly. Even so, I think the PSX screen fix and/or Y screen fix option should have handled that when enabled. Glad you found a fix though, MechaPwn is great!
