    Leslie Nielsen RIP

    Died 84 of pneumonia.

Lived a long life but it still sad that the person who's starred in some of the best spoofs ever made (and a piece of classic sci fi) is dead.

Just about to post this, he was one of those people who could reduce me to fits of laughter without saying a word. I know he made a load of shocking films but when on form he was the best.

Yeah really sad to hear he's gone. Loved most of his films , even remember him in Creepshow being rather evil unlike most of his other films . Sad loss

        RIP Leslie Nielsen

I'd say that Police Squad, Airplane and Naked Gun shaped my personal humour, so thank you Leslie.

I can still watch Naked Gun and Airplane over and over and laugh like a drain - some of the funniest films ever made. Sad to hear he's gone.

I need to get Police Squad on DVD.

Any chance of a forbidden planet blu ray or will the original print's condition mean you wouldn't get much benefit?

Gutted, police squad and airplane were what I grew up with, a comedy legend.

                  "They took him to hospital"
                  "Hospital? What is it?"
"It's a big building where they treat patients"

They showed a montage on one of the breakfast shows.

Even in some of the worst rubbish he was in, his comic delivery was always top notch.

Wish people like Will Ferrell (who constantly over eggs his lines and attempts to follow up punchlines) would look to his performances for tips.

Sad news, like abigail said, he tried hard and got the delivery right even though many of his films were terrible. When he was paired up with a good comedy, it was a riot.

Police Squad was one of the greatest comedy shows ever made

"Were sorry to bother you at a time like this Mrs Twice, we would've come earlier but your husband wasn't dead then"

                        RIP

A real shame. This thread is the first I have heard of this sad news. RIP.

                            A real loss.

Provided me, and a lot of other people, great laughs.

I still watch Naked Gun if I need cheering up.

                            R.I.P
