Guru Logic Champ Translation - Nintendo GBA

Guru Logic Champ, Translated from the Japanese by Sorrel Tilley. Original Japanese title is guru roji champu, where guru is onomatopoeia for rotation, roji is short for ‘logic’, and champu is the name of the beaked blobs that populate the game.

    Win a Nintendo 3DS

Win a Nintendo 3DS! (COMPETITION NOW CLOSED) In celebration of the Nintendo 3DS release, NTSC-uk is offering one lucky reader the chance to win a 3DS at UK launch, courtesy of Argos. Have a read through the hype and then scroll to the bottom to see how to enter this great competition. When news of the 3DS first surfaced (25/3/2010), with promises of 3D without glasses, the reception on ntsc-uk ranged from incredulity to excitement. "This can't be an April's fool can it?" queried Mofo2. Wit...

  • Tokyo Game Show 2010 Report

    Tokyo Game Show 2010 Report

This year’s goal: to cover the Tokyo Game Show in one day. Not the easiest of tasks, as I was aware from my experience of previous shows that it’s tough even trying to see everything on the four days that the event is usually open for, let alone just one. Still, if it was only one day, I knew I could make it count. I just had to be realistic about the fact that I wouldn’t be able to play many of the big-name titles at the show, and I had to make a fool-proof plan in order to actually do stuff....

  • Value For Money? Feature

    Value For Money? Feature

Reading threads discussing EDGE review scores has been one of the most regular events in my life over the past six years. Seemingly, the most controversial score they've handed out in the past twelve months was the 5/10 awarded to Mirror's Edge. I have been working working as a sub-editor at NTSC-UK for the last year, and the writers here have become – in my mind – a major rival to EDGE's opinion on what constitutes a good game. On the site's recommendation, I decided to buy Mirror's Edge and...

  • Nintendo DSLite Hardware Review

    Nintendo DSLite Hardware Review

We’re now long past the point where it’s good enough for gadgets to do something cool. For today’s iPod generation, they also have to look good doing it. While the original Nintendo DS was far from being the ugliest piece of gaming kit ever invented, in today’s more cosmetic-centric market the design was more of an Ugly Stepsister than Cinderella. Only released in 2004, the heavy-looking design certainly aged quickly and while it made the DS stand out, it was often for all the wrong r...

    EMS TopGun Review

For years, the standard in colour TVs was the 50/60Hz interlaced CRT (cathode ray tube) display running at 576/480 lines. However, recently TVs have been anything but standard. First came 100/120Hz for less flicker. Then came progressive scan for a higher clarity of picture. Then the traditional tube was usurped by flat screens often running at 720-or-higher number of lines. When there was only one type of TV, making a lightgun was easy, but on more modern TVs most lightguns will either not understand...

    Microsoft Xbox360 Hardware Review

The build up to the Xbox 360’s release has undeniably been a tumultuous one. From the games running on Apple Mac G5 systems as late as this year's E3, to the uncertainty of a full release list and titles being delayed right up to the final month of the console being unleashed, everything seems to have been a bit up in the air. But for most none of this matters anymore. If you’re still a firm believer that it’s too early for the next generation of consoles, then you’re going to want to stick...

  • Radiohead KID A MNESIA Exhibition - Report
    by Adrian Purser
Appearing recently on digital storefronts, this digital exhibition coincides with the 20th anniversary re-release and bringing together of Radiohead's Kid A and Amnesiac albums. It's been made in collaboration between the band and Epic Games, though it's also very quick to tell you that it is not a game, epic or otherwise. That, I think, is a mixture of nervous expectation-setting, alongside its creators selling both games, and what they've created, short.
Unless you're one of those sorts...

  • Datel Freeloader Review - Action Replay Gamecube Region Free disc
    by Charles R
Once upon a time, there was a Freeloader. It was late, as usual, but everyone waited with baited breath, because it promised much.

And so it came to pass, the Freeloader finally arrived, and oh what gifts it brought. The ability to de-zone everyone's Gamecubes. Finally, an easy (and cheap) way for anyone in the world to play games from anywhere else in the world. It was welcomed with open arms.
Datel, after many delays, have now released their de-zoning disc. Twice. The f...

  • Goldeneye N64 Retrospective
    by Archives
Describing the greatness of Goldeneye isn't the easiest task in the world. If you were to show it to a gamer who has recently been showered with PC First Person Shooters such as Far Cry, then they'd scoff at the low-polygon landscapes, the poor digitised textures of Robbie Coltrane and the frame rate equivalent to the IQ of a table leg. They'd be missing the point though, as levels such as "Surface" are the forebears to Far Cry's grand vistas.
Which leads us nicely into one of the reaso...

  • TGS 2003 - Tokyo Game Show Report
    by Archives
As a first visit to any kind of games show, it was going to be very interesting to see what all the fuss was about. I remember reading about the Tokyo Game Show among other shows in magazines years back and having a sense of delight and amazement. Did you ever dream of going to a game show in Japan? I'm sure it's something most avid gamers can associate with. On Sunday the 28th of September, my wife and I headed towards Makuhari messe from western Tokyo, a journey of 2 hours. When we finally ...
