Radiohead KID A MNESIA Exhibition - Report
Appearing recently on digital storefronts, this digital exhibition coincides with the 20th anniversary re-release and bringing together of Radiohead's Kid A and Amnesiac albums. It's been made in collaboration between the band and Epic Games, though it's also very quick to tell you that it is not a game, epic or otherwise. That, I think, is a mixture of nervous expectation-setting, alongside its creators selling both games, and what they've created, short.

Datel Freeloader Review - Action Replay Gamecube Region Free disc
Once upon a time, there was a Freeloader. It was late, as usual, but everyone waited with baited breath, because it promised much.
And so it came to pass, the Freeloader finally arrived, and oh what gifts it brought. The ability to de-zone everyone's Gamecubes. Finally, an easy (and cheap) way for anyone in the world to play games from anywhere else in the world. It was welcomed with open arms.
Datel, after many delays, have now released their de-zoning disc. Twice. The f... -

Goldeneye N64 Retrospective
Describing the greatness of Goldeneye isn't the easiest task in the world. If you were to show it to a gamer who has recently been showered with PC First Person Shooters such as Far Cry, then they'd scoff at the low-polygon landscapes, the poor digitised textures of Robbie Coltrane and the frame rate equivalent to the IQ of a table leg. They'd be missing the point though, as levels such as "Surface" are the forebears to Far Cry's grand vistas.
Which leads us nicely into one of the reaso... -

TGS 2003 - Tokyo Game Show Report
As a first visit to any kind of games show, it was going to be very interesting to see what all the fuss was about. I remember reading about the Tokyo Game Show among other shows in magazines years back and having a sense of delight and amazement. Did you ever dream of going to a game show in Japan? I'm sure it's something most avid gamers can associate with. On Sunday the 28th of September, my wife and I headed towards Makuhari messe from western Tokyo, a journey of 2 hours. When we finally ... -

SNES WEEK: Day 6
1) Chrono Trigger
2) Donkey Kong Country
3) Yoshi's Island
1) Chrono Trigger - Rob Bowker (hankwangford) When it came to the clash of the 16-bit titans, the Megadrive and SNES were both able to trade punches in almost every genre, except for the RPG. Whilst the Megadrive certainly had its fair share of quality role playing titles, support from both of the RPG heavyweights – Enix and Square – ensured that the Super Nintendo more or les... -

1) Contra 3: Alien Wars - Jamie Davies (Spatial101) Aliens. Never the friendliest bunch are they? Take those in the Contra series. Despite being driven back, time and again, by Earth's mightiest heroes, they always seem willing to come back for another try. In Contra 3:The Alien Wars, 27th Century Earth is caught with its pants down and the evil alien overlord... -

3) Soul Blazer
1) Super Aleste - John Henderson (Kubrick) Ah, the Nintendo Super Famicom. Without doubt a brilliant machine, and one that will instantly evoke fantastic memories for anyone who ever owned one during it's heyday. However, it's a format that is often overlooked & glossed-over whenever talk of 2D shooting games enter the conversation. The purists will tell y... -

3) Umihare Kawasi
1) Raccoon Rascal - Simon Dominguez (Nyarthmaul) If we had the budget for a time machine here at Bordersdown, we know exactly what we'd do with it. We'd to back to early 20th century America and visit the great author Sterling North just after his mother died to offer him some words of consolation. "Sterling," we'd say. "Things seem bad right now, but take heart. One day you...
