Just went through the later half of the demo theatre.... absolutely brilliant!! My favourite part...

When you are standing over the boss and have to actually pull the trigger yourself it is such a powerful moment!! The whole game has led to this point, and I am sure there are others, like myself, who hesitated before firing... it was so dramatic. The way the truth unfolds at the end makes this moment all the better!!

Playing through DMC3 at the mo but fully intend to play this through again on hard... fantastic game!!

I hesitated as well. I think I actually tried to move to avoid pulling the trigger, but no. It has to end the way it does.

Scary thing is I'm now thinking like I'm playing Metal Gear. I see a patch of tall grass and think it would be a perfect place to hide. Even now I've just noticed there's a box next to the screen with the words "Big Boss Box" written on it. I'm gonna take it as a sign that I should play some more Metal Gear. Right now.

Boy mentioned this before on here... When you shake the presidents hand press R1 and look to his left a cheeky wee addition which helps answer any doubts you may have on some things!!

This is close to be being my favourite game of all time.. it really as impacted me that much... scary!!

IMO the fight with The Fear was the weakest in the game... dont get me wrong it was still a great fight and highly enjoyable but when compared to the standard of other bosses in the game it was the least gob smacking!!

Agreed.

As well The Fear was ridiculous easy with thermal goggles. Anyway, the most impressive boss was The End. Old man who moves like an athlete.

In MGS2, the main bad guy, with the metal suit and the tentacle things. Who was that? Trying to tie all the games together timeline and character wise and this bugger is the only missing piece in my head. The eye patch made me think it might be Big Boss but his on the other side.

Been a while since I played MGS2 so it aint all that fresh in my head.

MGS3 on the other hand will live with me forever

I'm I the only one who kept the M63 out most of the game and just opened up until my clip ran out on all the boss's ?

The End kept seeing me and i used that forward roll all over the place until i got some cover. Then luckily i kept bumping into him hearing his "huh?" then crouching and sneaking up on him.

The rest of the Boss's got the M63 treatment. I was a Killing Machine. I think i racked up 500 odd kills before the Sorrow fight meaning a hefty walk up that river.

A very good game, it should be in the top ten of this years games !

Gerry -So you just John Rambo'd the whole game??? No wonder you done it one one night. Were you legging it from Boss fight to Boss fight??? hehehe!! There are cool ways of taking each Boss down... its part of the game to work out there weakness and exploit... thats what Snake does

... preferred the stealthy, silent approach for the rest of the game and I think my experience of the game benefited from this approach!!

How could you use the M63 on the old man... it was a battle of respect. Hunting him down without getting seen and positioning yourself for a Sniper shot was one of the highlights of the game!! The old man didnt deserve to go via the business end of your chain gun, hehehe, shame on you!!

This is easily my GOTY so far and possibly of all PS2 games. DMC3 giving it a run for its money but Snake is looking good for now

Ah, thats right!! Curious how did he get his eye patch? Hhmmmmm!! Weird that MGS1 is crystal clear in my head, while MGS2, which I played more recently is a blur. I suppose that says a lot about the game itself

See what I mean about being a blur... I cant even remember some of the fights in it. Its starting to come back to me (through reading scripts, previous posts, etc). Forgot how great a character Solidus actually was,

Interesting to think the path Solidus leads, is it the same path your character from MGS3 would have followed? Being an identical clone would he have the same ideals? I suppose is upbrining would change this.

The way Kojima ties the trilogy together is pure genius!! Master class in story telling!!

I respected no-one,

I think my evasion meter was on constantly, I wore nothing no Camo, only the black paint. As soon as i got my RPG and M63 no one was safe. Even when i tranqed one of the guards I went up and stabbed him to death. those scientists annoyed me so usually I used those Phos nades to cook them.

My favourite part was winding up the guards, "knock knock" "what was that noise ?"
"Hmm nothing here" then i detonate the TNT, Muwhahaa.

I also enjoyed sniping the weapons out there hand and then shooty to the face, holding up the guards before point black pistol to the head.

Noes, Liquid and Snake where Born first. It was said that Solidus came in another project. He was made to look older so that he looked better as the president.
