Thats a shame cause you really are missing out on a fantastic game!! I have just defeated the 3rd main boss, The End and am so happy with the game it aint right!! The battle with The End, is like nothing I have played before, it really is perfectly executed!!

There are differences in how you have to play this to previous games without then radar, but if you take time to use all the tools at your disposal and wee bit of practice with the CQC, you should do fine!!

Anyone else think the fight with The End was out of this world?? Dripping with tension the whole time... brilliant!!

Absolutely. One of my favourite boss battles ever. I'm having a hard time deciding which I like more the battle with The End or The Boss

I cant even picture what the fight with her is going to be like... The End fight was so refreshing and not what I was expecting at all!!

Everything about the game is refreshing... the setting, how open the environemnts are for exploration and the the fight with The End highlights all of these aspects.

Want to play this non stop... no interruptions in the story... am totally into it!!

I tryed to like it, i really did. I got right into the other two Solids, Its just not gonna happen with this one.

Went back to GT4 after that.
          It's worth sticking with it.

I was feeling exactly the same until I realised that I hadn't even got to the opening credit sequence yet. A little bit longer and then it all clicks into place.

I thought that MGS1 was more like pacman than anything else, spending all my time looking at the radar. MGS2 improved on it a bit but I fell that htis installment is far more realistic. I find myself trying to breathe quietly in the long grass to prevent the guards from spotting me.

So far I'm loving it. So much tension!

All of the boss fights are fantastic, but I think the fight with The Boss is (ever so slightly) better than the fight with The End

The fight with the boss was almost beautiful. The emotional setting was so high and the atmosphere was just perfect. It looked amazing and it was a really good fight as well.

Spot on John... the radar is not missed in MGS3 when you get use to using your environemnt and equipment!! It makes it much more realistic and requires ACTUAL stealth to progress... sense of achievement when you move through an area taking out all guards silently is fantastic!!

Few games come close to the tension you feel playing MGS3... "The End" battle being the best example of this... nerve shattering at points!! Especially when he sneaks up on you, old ****!!

I know I have so many good things in between where I am and this fight but I just want to be there and experience this fight!! Gonna need to pull a couple late nighters to get there

Yup, The End is one of the best videogame moments ever I think for me, sheer amazingness.

I found my initial reaction very similar to the original poster. I tried again tonight and...I still hate it. I got to about half an hour past the James Bond-esque credits and gave up.

I hate the interminable and terrible dialogue, the fact that so far I've felt relieved whenever a cut scene took over because the controls are so awkward, the crappy camera angle/no moving in first person, the bizarre combination of fetishistic reality and daft game conventions etc etc

IMHO it's just a silly mess, mired in its own arbitrary, bizarre conventions. Apart from the graphics and production values, I'd struggle to say anything nice about this game. Back to the shop on Friday...roll on Timesplitters 3 and DMC 3.

You'd be missing out if you only played it for like an hour.

Hey, i got this on PAL release and completed it the day after. Just wondering if there's anyone else that felt this game wasn't as good as it was made out to be? It just didn't pull me in like the other 2 did. Good all the same but deffinatly not my favourate Metal gear.

I am sorry DS Rocks, but this game has grabbed me by the nuts and aint letting go!! It was a slow burner at first getting into it and getting use to the CQC and other controls but now it is scary how much I love it!! Just entered the Military Base after The Fury and IMO the hype dont do this game justice... absolute class!!

well there's always going to be people that like it, i'm just unfortunatly not one of them i tried my hardest to like it but i just can't. And it wasn't a case of just playing it for an hour, i completed it, then went through again for the boss's camos.

I was unsure at first... the opening section and intro didnt grab me as I thought it would... dont get me wrong the scene on the bridge is amazing but it didnt get me into the game as much as I though it would.

After the bit where you first meet Eva that was it... I was in Snakey boy heaven!! It all clicked into place after that for some reason and now I am really caught up in it all.

It does seem to be a bit hit and miss, which is a shame, cause it has so much to offer!!

At least you gave it the chance few are willing to

And yes... the DS does rock
