Ok can some one please tell me why that big general dude grabbed Raidens/snakes unit?

Cos i understand what happens afterwards, but why did he suddenly go for teh crown jewels?

Been puzzling me for a while now.........

The impression I got was that General Raikov (think that's how it's spelled) was actually a transsexual. Seemed like a joke from Kojima about how people were saying how Raiden was very feminine. I'm probably way off though!

Edit: or maybe Volgin is bisexual and knows Raikov's crotch very well? :P

a) it looks like crap on an lcd, or a ps3 @ 720p even, through HDMI
b) no, it doesn't have prog. scan, no version of it does
c) yes, its just the SD game on an HD telly issue (sadly)

Cheers m8 as you have seriously saved me some money. Was seriously contemplating buying a 2nd PS3 a USA PS3 next month if it did improve it for 3 even though I cant afford it Ive been looking today with back compatibility lol. Guess I will just have to get used to blurry vision or dig the portable out for the PS2. Shame my eyesights so flaming bad (4/20 so partially sighted) as everything blurry anyway add jungle camo and I couldnt see out (main worry with MGS4 was it would be same thankfully its not although I have to not use full pixel so I can see tags on enemies lol).

Game sounds very deep with the food issues, as I said I need to give it some proper time and I will now it didnt hel that I couldnt figure out that I kept getting caught trying to sneak ccq but now I know I have to use dpad.

Its games like MGS4 and GTAIV that give my gaming pile new live to go back to and start again

Volgin is known to have peverse sexual tendencies and has a relationship with Raikov, basically.

edit: during the volgin boss fight you can make him hesitate if you wear the raikov mask

I dunno what it is with Kojima, but he doesn't half have some strange inuendos in his MGS series. I wouldn't be suprised if he was a raging pervert in real life.

As much as i liked this game, i jus detested the eating thing as it was jus a pain in the arse.......... I remeber when i first played it in Jap (well the subsistance version) and i had to do trial and error with eating all kinds of rubbish, especially in the heat of battle.

Best fight has to be with the Fury...........

I enjoyed the fear (christ wasn't easy) and the end the most.

I loved how 'the boss' would utterly kick your ass all the time, this was the first intro to CQC, and my it rocked.

They should remake MGS3 in HD with the octocamo so you dont get annoyed changing it all the time, and maybe remove the eating part, that got boring too .

The eating element is awesome... even if only for the ridiculous conversations it generates between Snake and Paramedic! Snake Eater was a hilarious game, I've just started on MGS4 but so far I'm missing some of the light-hearted humour from Snake Eater. Early days yet though.

Just a spoiler question on MGS3 (and 1 too I guess, and maybe 4 though nothing significant to story, I've just forgotten what was said in what game so I'm being cautious) -

Paramedic, somewhere down the line, turned out to be Dr.Clark who turned Grey Fox into the Ninja. Now, if I remember correctly, MGS1 was pretty clear on Dr.Clark being a man. I know Kojima just pillaged the history and rewrote it to imply that there is nobody else on the plant except for people Snake met but was there a story reason given that Paramedic became manly Dr.Clark? I guess if she can build a cyborg, a sex change op would be easy but I don't think that was mentioned.

Oh, and I didn't mind the eating element at all.

Apparently the character never had their gender revealed in the japanese one, so it is actually an error in the translation which has caused the inconsistancey.

Just finished this last night for the first time. Absolutely amazing!!

I started playing from Metal Gear, ages ago and I've only just finished MGS3 on the 3DS, I think it's my favourite game in the series so far! So much class about it. I couldn't stop grinning when the intro song first played (tree frogs ftw!), love the cold war setting, love the characters, once I got the hang of it the survival stuff (cure and food) was pretty awesome and the sheer volume of cool touches, secrets, items and easter eggs is amazing.

I think this was also the most fun game to actually play. I got on with the MSX games alright, but I found MGS1 and 2 to have some very frustrating camera/control issues at times. I recall that some people had issues with the 3DS version of MGS3, but I couldn't tell you why. I guess I've got nothing to compare it to but I thought it was great - possibly a couple of framerate hiccups? Can't remember if that was a complaint or not...

Also, I'm well aware that the story is quite ridiculous at times, but I love it so much! Some really fun dialogue (some very clunky stuff too mind) and very likable/interesting characters that all seem to be connected in the most convoluted of ways.

Anyhow, fantastic game, just wanted to share my love. My only problem now is that I feel terrible for roasting Big Boss at the end of Metal Gear 2!
