Is there any download that updates all team names and rosters? I would love the UK league to 'look' as if it's fully licensed in the game. (P.S. Sorry if this has already been answered!)

I'm sure its possible to get somewhere in the Master League but I can't for the life of me work out how. I remember playing one of the ISS or maybe the first PES on the playstation and not having too much difficulties with the master league. In PES4 I'm lucky to get a single shot in the entire game (and its not usually any good), and my main tactic is to try to hold out for a 0-0. As far as I can tell you start (I'm using all the defaults and playing on 3 stars) with a crap team who are all really old - I'm not going to get a win with my tactics and I'll be lucky to get enough money to pay my team by just getting draws let alone get someone decent. Also how does the whole training/conditioning thing work? I dont really know what it does but I don't like what I've seen so far - I preferred the older simpler Master League.

Can anyone give me advice on a decent strategy for the ML.

after all the big talk near the top of this thread i have finally played Tommyg in pes4 Live ... after i hammered him in the first game (i kept asking him if he had lag i was going through his team so quick) and him grabbing a draw in the 2nd game it was decided that he should host the next game ... so we both picked international teams

Mr G picked France, and i was contemplating which team to pick out of Spain and the Netherlands ... took too bloody long and the game picked Greece for me (to laughter coming from the headset) ...... Final result - Greece won

now just need to play Roost to sort out t'other **** talker

ps g-funk - sorry about the disconnect, game locked up when i was taking the freekick ... also that was the laggiest game yet (at my end)

had my first chance to play this online last night and its quality!!!!!

had some real quality games (one including a 6-0 humping of england w00t) ALL lag free with no dropouts either!!!!

I played about 8-9 games and out of them only 1 person spoke during the game. is this normal??

Think it cause A LOT of folk, including myself, are suing PS2 pad convertors that dont let you use the voise comm. Have had some laggy games and some drop outs, who should be banned from playing it but on the whole a fantastic experience!!

Slaughtered boy from my work 4 games on the spin last night, class!! Will be on for some tonight at 9!!

It would help if any of them actually worked.

Both of the option save files available were read as corrupted when the game tried to read them.

Anyone have a working one?

I was complete arse at this yesterday, just couldn't get my game together at all.

Dunno if it's me, but sometimes the players just don't feel *as* responsive as their PS2 counterpart.

EDIT - I picked this up from my cousin yesterday, which has been useful. Instead of using the standard cross when getting in and around the opponents area, get to the edge of box and hit towards the goal and "Y" and the player will stick a teasing ball across and your striker will attack the ball, very useful.

I agree bleeders, it doesn't feel as responsive as PS2. Must be due to the live play cause aint played it single player on XBox yet, no need to, it only for live play still got my PS2 copy in the collection and it aint moving!!

Had great games last night with no lag at all and response good. I am kinda compensating for some delay in response now, which has helped!! Overall been a good experience but doesn't feel as good as the PS2 version. Only got it for live play so am happy!!

I prefer the double tap cross when over the 18 yard line, usually gives my strikers the chance of a diving header if defenders not camped behind the ball!!

Yeah, I was getting increasingly frustrated with it yesterday, since absolutely NONE of my tricks and plays were coming off, but as you say Mardigan you have to try and compensate for the minimal delay.

I usually go for a double tap cross myself most of the time, but if I've got a strong striker, then I usually use the through-ball since they can often get in front of their defender and stick it away.

In anycase, I think I'll use the S-Controller when playing friendlies with peeps from the forum and the PS2 pad when playing League matches, feel like I'm missing out by not having a banter with an opponent.

I have tried the XBox pad cause wanted to get the banter going but my game suffers when using it!! Am struggling as it is with pulling off the 1-2s and chip through balls on the amended Dual Shock Shoulder buttons .


IMO Pro Evo was designed with the Shoulder buttons in mind and has suffered becuase of this intis coversion to XBox... only a fellow PS2 pro evo man would agree with this.

Still, cant fault the game on live, when you get a good connection it is fantastic. Have sent you many invites Bleeders, couple yesterday cause want to get games against fellow forum members... means the banter can continue on here, hehehe!!

I'm not feeling the live portion of the game at all the moment. I think it must have a low frame rate and there appears to be a lot of skip in animation which effects my dribbling technique and thats on top of the fact that I cant use the S-pad at all will this game!

Looks wise, it's beautiful in progressive scan in single player. There's a dip in quality in Live though.

Anyone know how i can register created players in a team? It says i have to buy them, but im assuming this is in the master league, as they are not available in the shop. I just want to register them in a starting line up.

Loving this game on the X-Box, although i cant stand the R2 button being all the way down there. Means i cant do all the shimmys i used to. Have a magic box on the way though so will check that out.
