I got the BMW Gt4 demo* a while ago and it?s great fun (with the DFP wheel).
*(BMW demo is not equal to the "final" demo released some weeks ago)
The two additional tracks featured here that weren?t included in Prologue are very good, but the time limit there is a bit annoying.
Some improvements over Prologue are:
- new HUD with "G-Force" meter and display of analog control (you don?t need to turn it on manually every time you drive)
- less screeching from the tyres (new sounds)
- I feel that it is now harder to drive the cars around the tracks at maximum performance. By that I mean if you don?t deliberately push the car constantly you will naturally drive more slowly and safely. So you rather start out going slowly and then step by step begin to use the remaining power of the car, which is a change to previous GT games where you usually go too fast first and then need to reduce speed to get around the track without sliding on all of the walls.
However that could also be only the case with that one car featured in the demo.
- when you crash there is this blur effect that does a good job of displaying the forces at work there
In conclusion, this demo really makes me want to play the completed GT4 game - much more so than Prologue, which rather turned me away from GT4.
(maybe releasing Prologue at such an early state wasn?t the best decision from a marketing point of view, but that?s what happens if you need nearly half a year to port it from ntsc to pal format)
