You took the words out of my mouth!
I've lost count how many times I've been told that the overseas versions are harder than the JPN version! Looks like I was right after all!

How's the PAL conversion this time round? 60hz mode present? That ruined the original for this country.

                  60hz mode is on PAL

That's cool fella, I owned up as much in the page previous.

Should've named and shamed me. XD

So do you not have to collect the yellow orbs in the Japanese version then? Do you just get given infinite continues?

Yellow orbs are there but they 'resurrect' you rather than give a continue, so you can carry on mid-fight (I think, only used one once).. otherwise you can continue which usually takes you back a room or so to start a fight from scratch

Yellow orbs in the Japanese version are Rebirths, you wake up immediately and carry on fighting. When you continue on the Japanese version you start back outside the last room you entered - this makes training on bosses absolute class as you can keep fighting and then suiciding before you kill it all day to learn the boss inside out. Just continue after you die and you restart outside the room. Yellow orbs for Rebirth you buy but continues are free.

The Japanese version is the one I prefer as I like to train all day long against a single boss without having to use a bought item each time to stay there, no idea why they changed it for the overseas versions (adds to the ever-growing list of weird pointless changes to western releases of Japanese games...)

                            Cheers guys

The game sounds much deeper than the original, with all the different fighting styles to choose from etc. Sounds good.

You'll cry rivers of hapiness tears while playing it...

I haven't played the us/pal version but that sounds like the dumbest change in history. I also practise bosses by commiting suicide and then restarting just before the room.... the change completely spoils the whole point of the game..free practise.

I hope my chipped PS2 doesn't die soon..getting on a bit and i got mixed region of games.

I managed to pull myself away from FFVII( first proper play through. AMAZING..who needs next gen) long enough to blast through most of hard mode..only two levels left but need sleep.

I look forward to sampling DMD mode
