It's made me want to finish DMC3 again Hard mode...if I survive the ass-kicking then it's DMD time after that!

For Vergil 2 on Hard I think Swordmaster worked best for me, but after extended play on other styles RG is the best for him. IMO, its all about knowing when his specific attack strings are gonna end and how many hits each has. Understand the patterns, ensure your dodge/parry of the final string attack keeps you close to him and that should usually leave him open for your own string.

With pracy he can be bitched with RG as he can in all encounters using that style. Check out Venoms Vergil 3 vid. It inspired me to adopt a sick RG routine on him and it paid off. Sadly I missed out on Venoms time by 8 seconds close though, hehehe.

Having to do that puzzle and statue enemies befor fighting him is murder in PAL land. IMO, a solid RG is the best way to conquer Vergil in any encounter... does take practice though. Trickster will work on Hard mode, you just gotta memorise his attack strings to know when to counter attack

I hear that, VJ is all instinct now and I hope I get to the same level with Dante. Having a SLOW function definitely makes things more bearable, maybe I should look into Quicksilver over the weekend.

Thats exactly what RG is, practice, till it becomes automatic. Like with Vergil 3 now RG allows me to execute him flawlessly but it took time and many attempts. When you get it dow though the feeling of power is immense. Sending the final boss of DMC3 home crying is beautiful hehehe.

All the tools for maximum destruction are there it just depends how much time and effort folk want to put into it.

Even with RG Vergil 2 for me was best defeated using well timed rolls and jumps to avoid him, then by knowing when a specific string would end I would know when to attack him. Going back through the boss fights now its all about RG and being totaly in his face.

Ripping up Vergil 3 in 1 minute 30 seconds is one the best gaming stats I have. Put the time in to DMC3, you will get rewarded, simple as.

Managed to rip open Vergil 1 using RG and am working on perfecting 2. Having grasped the technique for Vergil it is good applying it to 1&2 but just adapting it to new attack strings. Why I was ever afraid of confonting Vergil before I do not know

Tell me about it.. I was thinking of doing a vietnam marine style super gluing of the cut to keep it together

Still, I'm no where near you guys in the ways of dante skills.. I'm still getting whored by the game frequently.

Cheers Venom, that vid helps loads. I like the stinger attack you did while he was doing that blue shock wave thing. I need to switch up my attack more instead of just going in Rebellion all the time but Vergil's totally hench when he starts that devil strutting I get scared!

Rebellion / Beowuld been the best for Vergil fights for me. Switching between them before the final move of a string brings maximum pain. Usually goes Rebellion (3 hits), switch, Beowulf (2 hits), switch, Rebellion (3 hits). Any more than that is a bonus before he becomes unstunned and wants his dignity back

When he says "Your going down" in Vergil 3 THAT is when the fear sets in. When he first ripped that on me I nearly dropped the pad screaming "STOP Vergil, STOP". Great now you can flip those fights on there head and be in control from start to finish.

Get into Venoms Vergil vids, they the proper ****!!

Started working on DMD boss tactics now. Here's a vid showing a fight against A&R (DMD mode). The meth here is pretty safe if you're going for little or no damage.

Mate, get Killer Bee into your routine to do massive damage to Vergil!

                              Here's one I use:

                              Rebellion 3 hit combo > High Time(Blast Off) > Killer Bee > Beowulf 2 hits >
Straight > Stinger or Kalina Ann > Taunt (optional)

                              or

Rebellion 3 hit combo > High Time(Blast Off) > Killer Bee > Enemy Step > Killer Bee > Rebellion 2 slashes > Stinger > Kalina Ann > Taunt (optional)

Ah, I remember you using Kalina Ann on Vergil 3, TBH, I didnt use my guns once on him when bussin the SS Rank. Followed your preaching to the letter using RG... added a wee multiple parry of his spinning blade but didnt use Kalina Ann or Killer Bee. They both def worth mixing into the routine though.

Hopefully I can shave off that 8 seconds you have on me, hehehe.

****in A on the getting vids hooked up here, if it aint too much trouble fire a quick post with the basics. DMC3 is gonna live forever, woooooooooooooooo!!
