27 hours so far, a lot more than I'd put into most action games.

I think I'm just confused over the terminology that's used. Weapon switching and cancelling are part of the same process in my head as you need to switch weapons to cancel right?

Anyways, gonna find that challenge and pwn it soon

Cancel is more about using another move to halt the completion of the move you are currently doing. Cancelling can be done through things like, jumping, enemy jumping, O press when in Royal Guard style. Weapon switching is just that, switching weapon and it can be used as a cancel but is more used for cool combos

Dont need to switch weapons to cancel, just need to pull off one of the "interruption" moves described above.

More evidence on just how much detail we are dealing with in this game... off the chart.

Am sitting at around the 70 hours mark... one play through on Normal, 2 on hard, 50% of DMD and more repeated bosses and missions than every other game I have played added together.

There are also moves which cancel into similar moves such as the multiple stingers.

The killer bee repeat was the fist real cancel i pulled off and god was I happy when it all came onto the screen another example of cancelling into a simlar move.

The cancels on Kalina Ann and Spiral using RG are pretty good aswell. Saur had a vid with the spiral one that was great. Think he called it Schwarzenegger, hehehe. The Kalina ann cancel is pretty good and allows you to fire it much quicker, if you get the timing right. works great for the 100 demon credit sequence

Agreed, I dont really see God of war getting any play time with Dante about.

Nothing even comes close to scratching DMC3s box art, never mind the game

well i really liked god of war but very soon i had the combat system sussed out and unlike dmc3 there were many areas they used to break up the action which in my opinion they should not have done

Thing is though, God of War's play-mechanic is rooted more or less in the puzzle element of the game IMO.

The combat mechanics don't have anywhere near the sort of scope Devil May Cry 3 has.
