Is there any way to place you dog in stasis? As in, if you cant play for a week or more, so it dosent run away?

It dosent look like it, and i wasnt sure what happens if you put the dog you want alive in the hotel, and keep another to die, what happens to the hotel dog(s)? Is the game data saved on the card or internally? Could you set the date back, so effectively no time has passed, then load the game (feed and water) then push the date to normal?

I can understand keeping it like a tamagochi, w.r.t. forcing you to care regularly, but no "holiday mode" is a bit rough.

As far as I understood nintendogs you could leave them for half a year and they wouldnt run away or die or grow old or ill or anything! Just get dirty and hungry

How do the different versions of this work?

Is it that you get the six dogs, specific to whichever version you buy, available at the start, but all the dogs are unlockable in each version, i.e. all the same dogs are eventually available in each version?

All breeds are eventually unlocked in every version. Only one im not sure of is the dalmatian & friends version im pretty sure you can only get the dalmatian in that version.
