Psychonauts

[Concept]

Stranger's Wrath is one of my highlights of the year. I haven't posted much (if at all) in the first-play thread, but it captivated me from start to finish. I really do hope Psychonauts is on that quality, and it gets a PAL release. Otherwise, it looks like I'll have to send off my 'box to be chipped.

I'll play it at some point this year... European release or not.

Play.com have got ps2 pc and xbox version down as the 25/11/2005, they have the latest boxart too

If the game wasn't already finished and out in other teritories then maybe I could understand the delays, but wtf!!! Put back again and again...

Is there much difference between the Ps2 & xbox versions.

I have a chipped Ps2 and a PAL xbox and i was waiting for the xbox version as it would be safe to assume that it would look a bit nicer, but i'm fed up waiting so i might get the US PS2 version.

I haven't seen *that* much of the PS2 version, but from what I've seen...

- It has no anti-aliasing, so jaggies galore (Xbox version has 4x FSAA)
- Textures are much, much lower resolution, and are lower colour depth too
- Frame rate splutters sometimes
- Longer loading times

It's considerably uglier. You could try the PC version, that looks even better than the original on Xbox.

I haven't played the PS2 version myself but it isn't as nice looking obviously, like you said. Also apparently, there are some annoying bugs.

The Xbox version has the annoying screen tearing effect which the PS2 version might lack though. Not that it really hurts the game.
