Thanks. I'll give them a try tonight (ought to get at least an hour on the game). I'll be able to see where I got up to!

Thinking about it i would have thought getting through the game would have been quite a struggle with out using them.

Most skill attacks are handy for damaging a group of enemys.Or if against one strong monster concentrating them all on him

With my "hit and run" tactics I could take out an enemy 10 levels higher than my best character. Just takes a while to achieve!!

Well I had to go over some ground again last night. Finally reached the Desert again and have been going around there. Best character is now Level 20 with 400+ Mana and Health. Strength is I think 57 and Intelligence 52. I am now Melee 13 and Combat Magic 16 but will try to concentrate on magic for now. I have a nicely enchanted piece of armour (courtesy of the Enchantress) which has Armour of 48. She also sports a Shield of 36 so is reasonably robust. Had to do a Respawn last night as I had three of my characters dead and that was the only way to get them and their items back easily.

I have for the moment abandoned the Crypt in the desert due to the remaining enemies there (one at Level 28 who summons a Level 28 character and one at Level 30). If I had been thinking I would have failed to give the correct order of names to the statue in there as it some reasonably killable enemies if you get the sequence wrong. That would have been useful to gain some experience. Instead I gave the right sequence first time.

I am currently looking for the other Stelas (??), having found two so far I think.

Did you try out the skills?

            My main characters stats

            Health 842
            mana 304
            dex 51
Int 50 ( though I strongly recommend raising this for enemies against act 3 if you played baldurs gate 2 there is an enemy similar to the illithids)
            dex 51
            int 50
            armour 347
            melee 39

I tried a skill and got about twice the hit I could manage with Combat Magic though I may have been using something that the enemy was partially resistant to. Combat Magic was somewhat faster of course.

My Melee/Comabt Magic character (plus Level 6 Nature) does seem to be reasonably balanced. I will probably get her the occasional Melee level as I presumably will need this on occasions.

I am suprised how well this plays at 1024x768 and 32 Bit on my three year old PC. Admittedly a 2.66 GHz P4 with Geforce 4 MX... Cheap(ish) PC at the time and was still around the same price a year later amazingly.

Underneath the weapons/magic bar for each character it has a icons for each skill the character has some i find are useless but many seem pretty good.

Habit now before i use a skill i pause the game and select the skill click where i want it to go then unpause also the same when i am using health potions.

Yes i suppose melee for the nature magic user would be a good idea at least for her to get some decent armour

I think all my characters have at least a couple of melee levels, other than the one with Ranged combat. I can then give them extra health when they level up from time to time.

My combat spell of choice at the moment seems to be Leech Life.

I ought to make use of the Vault by the Teleporter.

How long is the game as am still on Chapter 1 after about 20 or more hours!

hmmm quite hard to tell i would say act 2 and 3 are still quite a generous size probably not quite as big or explorative as act 1.But like i said there are a few quests where you have to go back to act 1.For example the elven ruins.

My skill attacks with the archer her super shot now does damage of at least 1200 and thats to every enemy thats in its way even in act 3 that kills most of the normal monsters. My mages fireball attack does around 800 but it hits everythin to the side of the fireball to

I just have Flame Nexus for fire. Not tried the Ranged attacks. As she is Level 18 or 19 they may be quite strong. They do seem to take a while to recharge.

I am surprised no one else is playing this.

PC Format liked the game. I enjoyed the first one as well (though never completed it).

I hope with the patch they sort out the item drop ratio.Seem to have got the same set item several times. And also rare items of the same type within 20sec of each other.

Some of the bosses can be quite hard i have noticed. One boss knocked unconscious the rest of my group and my main character was right next to it strangely being right next to it he barely seemed to get hit.Took ages though think the enemys boss health was 8000+

I have yet to load the patch...

I've noticed that. My other three characters are getting pasted and the main character is hitting the enemy like mad and suffering no damage.

Bought an Enchantable Spell Book and boosted my stats with some suitable enchantments. My main character has over 60 strength and Intelligence now. Also went to Level 17 Combat Magic.

I started using that Storage Vault which is now nearly full!! At least I only need carry Mana and a few Health potions.

I have pretty much cleared the desert of enemies though there are some out of range that I have yet to find a way to reach. There is also the Level 28 and Level 30 enemies in the Crypt to deal with as well. I am trying to get another level or two first, but it is not that easy when there is nobody to kill. May have to take a look at Gamefaqs to see what I am missing as I seem to have covered all the ground and don't think I missed any paths. Alos I have to find a statue or something I think.
