Glad someone told us how to get through that QTE! I'd put the game down over a month ago out of frustration! Will have to pick it up again.....except I now have Zelda. All games on hold to the New Year.

I think that's the shortest game I've ever played.
I've never completed a game within 24 hours before, that was crazy. I started it at 2pm this afternoon and just finished it now, with a nice break in the middle to cook and take my mum shopping. It must have been no longer than 10 hours. I'm glad I only paid ?6 for it, if I paid the ?30odd RRP for it I'd have been pissed off.
None-the-less, I did quite enjoy it. The QTE sections were good; I liked moving the stick instead of the face buttons, it's more instinctive. The animations running in the background were excellent too.
The puzzles were pretty simple, apart from a few that seemed a little simiar to Broken Sword. I found I only got stuck when I didn't know I could walk places - probably due to the uncomfortable camera angles and movement.
The sections on the
Army Base
were absolute gash. It practically turned into trial-and-error for me in parts becuase it was really difficult to accurately guess where to go without getting caught. Definitely the weakest parts for me, but, necessary to the story as I discovered.
I did enjoy the story a lot, but man did it get weak towards the end. I understood from the off that it was not going to be completely down to earth, but I really felt like it dipped towards the end... just became a little silly. Still, it kept me engaged.
I loved playing the parts of all the characters, I thought that was inspired. As I was successful with one character I realised I was closing in on another and had my loyalties torn. It was superb and didn't spoil the tension, knowing what the others were all up to. Really well done. In terms of story telling technique I think Fahrenheit is a cut above the rest, executed superbly. It made the pacing and presentation much like a movie, which the layout of the menus and the introduction of the game implies it tries to be. Frankly, it seems a more logical way to present the game. I was reflecting while playing, and other games from FPS to adventure games all play like RPGs where you take control of a character and explore the universe from their perspective. Changing that formula and presenting the universe in an interactive way from all the character's perspectives was refreshing, offering depth to the world they were all exploring.
For that, I think the game scores highly. Graphically it's pretty good. I liked the music. It's probably replayable, trying out different avenues, but at 10 hours, you'd hope so. The gameplay is pretty simple, QTEs and track style button bashing with minimal problem solving, but still, pretty fun. Overall presentation and story (apart from the end) was great though, and well worth a go.
The game's ?10 on the PS2 at play.com, and like I said, I got the Xbox game for ?6 at ASDA; worth a pop at those prices.
Word of warning if you're playing this game on the 360: My controller kept on disconnecting throughout the game. It occurred in the same places, usually when I tried an action like drinking coffee, even if I re-loaded from a previous chapter; I think it's to do with the emulation.

MEGA THREAD REVIVIAL!
I decided to play this for the first time last night on my trusty Xbox. I'v had it sitting on the shelf for a couple of years, and it's day has finally come!
I played throught the first few sections up to the
morgue scene
.
I had previously played a demo of this on the PS2 which had the first scene, but it's been so long I'd forgotten a lot of it. The controls are fine for interacting with your surroundings, but I must say the movement of characters can be frustrating with frequent sticking on scenery.
Also I was frustrated in one scene where I had to
hide evidence in my flat while a timer counted down, as a policman threatened to knock down my door. This was due to being very disorientated and not being able to find the key!
I think I'll stick with this, as the story and presentation are really good, and it feels pretty different to everything else.
Also a special mention to the tutorial. Very well done

I liked the demo but the full game was a disappointment. I lost interest in the storyline after a while and there's far too much reliance on QTE. It's as if they were too lazy to create proper controls for the different sections.
I hope Heavy Rain won't overuse QTE and has a better branching storyline.
