Thought I'd bump this. Sorry, but it's my turn to be the lone dissenter and say that I'm really not enjoying this game very much at all.
The new weapon system is too simplified and has actually robbed the game of any potential for tactical play it may have posessed. Also, I think Treasure are somewhat dishonest in trying to pass this up as a full-on sequel, it should've been called Gunstar Heroes Remix, as a remix of the original is all this game really is.
There doesn't appear to be much in the way of skill involved in playing it either. In beating some sections of the game, it seems to be more about survival than any sort of skill-based play. Many attacks can't be avoided so it's simply a matter of holding down fire, setting off a few specials and hoping the enemy goes down before you do.
And those yelps from the heroes annoy the hell out of me.
