Can you go back and do all the side missions once you've finished the main story? or should one do them as you go along?

I'm sure i heard a anti-Jake Thompson advert on one radio; i went "WTF did i just hear that?" but there's no rewind.

Yep you have free run of the city with all of the side missions when you finish the story missions so don't worry about missing anything.

        Thats good news!

I got to stop over complicating missions or I'm never gonna get off the first island >_<

I spent way too long trying to kill everybody on

        'The Offer'

mission when it turns out you can just run away.

Thought I would be a smart arse and pick up all the hookers on the

        'Ho Selecta'

mission in a coach to save going back and forth, picked most of them up...and then tried to do the jump over the building! Needless to say I didn't make it

Its completely fun tho and exactly what I want from a GTA game, just gonna take me a while is all...

To be honest, I've not found the characters or the storyline anywhere near as engaging in this as San Andreas. That's not to say it's bad (

I especially love Toni's interplay with Donald Love and Salvatore Leone)

, but that it's missing the electic characterisation that the likes of

Zero, Woozie, CJ, OG Loc, Ryder, Sweet, Kendel, Cesar, Tenpenny, The Truth, Toreno, Catalina, Kent Paul/Macca, Ken Rosenberg etc. brought to the table.

I do agree on the whole the missions are more simplistic and easier - but that's no bad thing. Especially after a few nightmare spikes in San Andreas, Liberty City Story's main missions are more balanced, if unadventurous.

Not the way I play them mate That's what I love about GTA, the freedom to 'direct' each mission and use your imagination to fill in the story.

I'm in the middle of the

Rollercoast Ride mission and I have that bitch in the back of the Limo who had me set on fire loads a few missions back. I could just ram the car into a wall over and over and then drive her to the spot - but I'm planning on taking her down to the docks and having the limo chased and threatened by her own goons - get a taste of her own medicine

Whether it will play out like that I don't know but I can't wait to give it a go!!!! And if it does go down like that, I will remember that as being part of the story...

I know what you mean about missing some of the stronger characters from SA, but I'm still tripping off meeting up with my

            moms hitman

to care too much at the moment - that is genius!

Just got hit with a few silly glitches. Firstly I was wearing the Lawyers Suit, put it on standby for the night, I come ot play it this morning and the suit was pure white. (Pic attached)

Also, on the bridge going to Shoreside Vale, Im going top speed and then out of nowhere appears a wall in the middle of the bridge (like a big step).

Also for jokes, I got a shotgun, stood in front of a punk on a bike and shot him off, and he flew off so far, so decided to do this on someone driving top speed on the bike, and when i got him shot, he flew off and the bike flew up in the air and spun like a million times. Looks great when you do it.

And what the adverts on lips106 get more disturbing :
'Have you just started your period? So have all our other listeners.'

That wall thing on Shoreside Vale bridge could be the fact that the bridge rises and lowers every minute or two to let ships by and stuff like that!?

Gonna try the shotgun thing though!

So - Best PSP game to date ? Worth losing my 1.5 freedom for ? I've been dithering for days over whether to buy or not. Currently swaying towards it - The way I see it now they know that (for now) they've got the hackers sussed with this one every game will feature the same 2.0-centric coding....

Does it?! Dont remember it happening in GTA3.

Id say it is the best game to date. Havent touched any other PSP game since I got it.

You have to question why you bought a PSP in the first place. Passing up one of, if not the best, game on the system for ease of access to random homebrew stuff is plain wrong. Get it.

You are missing out on such a great game for the system, and when done theres no reason why you cant downgrade
loving this game a lot, I never played gta3 so its all new to me

It's an admirable achievement... the fact that Rockstar have scaled a modernday GTA into a handheld with little to no compromise, but certain gameplay styles in the formula don't fit the platform, and they haven't been significantly altered to acoomodate it.

I can still myself ploughing 100+ hours into LCS over the next 12 months though.

                            What's impressive with regards to

Toni's mum, are all the other little things which connect with GTA III and set the platform for what's to come. Impressively, it does feel like Liberty City set three years early, as opposed to being exactly the same. I thought satirising the late 90s would be next to impossible due to the lack of distance and perspective we have in still being so close.

I'm nearing the end of the story-based missions, but it's been very enjoyable, if a little predictable. You have to say though... what Rockstar promised with LCS, they delivered on. The trouble is, Rockstar continually surprised people in San Andreas by keeping a lot of it secret for the fans to discover themselves (all the layers etc.).

Maybe I'm being too critical. I will agree that along with Pure, this is the PSP's best game, and it's interesting that the UK (in terms of high-profile) titles is up with Japan on this format.

I've switched my SNES emulation to my PocketPC mobile phone, leaving the PSP for teh GTA goodness - definitely worth losing the other advantages of 1.5 for.

Totally agree on the characters not being as good/outrageous as SA, and i also miss blasting about in-between cities, however being mobile makes up for so many of the little losses and niggles.

Is it me or is the draw distance better than most of the PS2 GTA games?

Yes, it is, though the resolution and screen size of the PSP is helping LCS conceal the fact that polygon detail and texture detail in several areas have been lowered.
