That's exactly it; if this was your first fighting game ever, and you repeatedly got tanned, would you bother playing on with it? Sure, as "non pussy" gamers, we can all say that we would; but I imagine there are only so many times that you want to throw your pad against the wall before you want to play something else.

You might not get anything out of a game presenting no challenge at all to you, but clearly some people would. And it wouldn't be hurting you, or anyone else, to have the option for it.

According to a review of DOA3 I read there were significant updates and balancing done to the Pal version. If that's true changes could be made again.

The point being made here is the OPTION for easier settings, I personally dont need it and I am in no way trying to profess my ability at the game here. I have had my ass handed to me in cute little pieces by the AI and human opponents many times, BUT I 100% agree that an easier setting should be an option and it is just lazy that it is not there.

The game itself is well structuered and pitched at a good level for me any many others but why not provide the option for an easy setting as all DOAs have done in the past and every other fighter will contiue to do so? I cant really see how that point can be defended, we dont want to change the game, we just feel there should be the option to make your starting point with it a bit more achievable

The changes to the Pal version he mentioned were not anything to do with the difficulty settings but the game fighting system and overall balance.

So it will not provide more options but make the current normal and hard settings more balanced? That sounds fair enough, be interesting to see how a US/Jap normal compares to a PAL normal story mode play through.

I'll have to dig up the review again but what was mentioned was to do with the VS game affecting competitive play. I never played DOA3 so I don't know the specifics but basically the Pal and JP versions were supposed to have been changed for the better.

Yeah, they made loads of system changes to PAL/JP DOA3, which were released a far bit after the US version. See www.doacentral.com for more.

That said, there is no chance of the same happening for the PAL release of DOA4. The PAL release is coming only a month after the US release (if the 27/1/06 release date is to be believed) and that is no time to make significant updates to the system.

In any case, Temco have said that they would consider releasing Live patches to alter the balance if appropriate. The game is new and balancing issues take time to raise their heads.

I have beat the Story mode with all characters but it was a chore, not enjoyable. The fun comes from time attacks, survival and live play... simply putting an easy option in there would have solved all these complaints without taking anything away from the game.
YES IT DOES.Unless i have some super rare code of the game, the AI does in fact 'learn' your moves.Mixing up you attacks consistently throws the AI off and presents those opening's.

I'm not gonna go over this again and again,'cause it's wearing a little thin to be honest. How do you think top tier player's are achieving gold in time attack exactly?? by learning each character's weakness, and exploiting that. You try and repeat the same moves over and over again, and see how far you get.

Now as far as why an easy mode is absent.Well, that's itagaki's decision. If he feels thats the way it should be,then that's it basically.Like i said,he will cave in,the more people moan,so i would'nt worry too much about it.

Now what i find much more important is the fact that i came across a bug that reset's all the face buttons(A,X,Y,B)to 'No Use' in the control setting's.This happened while actually playing online,so i got into a fight and i could'nt do a damn thing.I've spoken to other people who have had this happen to them,so it's definitely an evil bug in the game.(Please no wise ass comments about the AI being an evil bug!)

So if you come across this while playing, don't(like me)think your controller is broken or your game is faulty.Just go to the controller settings and reconfig your buttons.

I got gold in time attack mode by spamming the same move over and over again tbh

hmmmmm.Every time i've tried to spam a move, the AI has picked up on it.I'll give it a go later and see what happens

I spammed Hyabusas 3 hit spin kick thing over and over in survival and the AI walked into it every time, it varies its ability wildly and sometimes just decides right from the start that it is going reverse all the **** you can bring, bastard sometimes so it is.
