Think it's worth checking out some of the leading replays for an event, watching their line / tactics and trying the same cars which they use. Not likely to match their times unless you are a 13 year old with endless time and fresh reactions but it is usually enough to scrape you a plat medal.

F50GT and the Ruff boxster concept were favourites when I was playing !!!!!

Just typing the above reminds me of how good all the replay / Gotham TV functions are in the game. Best implementation of that sort of tech yet IMO, shame other games aren't doing the same. Their should be Halo TV with Halo 3 !

Im trying to get the Style Racer achievement, and the only thing I haven't done is the 25m powerslide. for some reason though, the 'never-ending slide' badge is never awarded to me. I have done everything else, the Kudos requirements, all manoevers etc.

Can anyone help me? Am I not doing the slide correctly? Im using the F50GT as I figure that car allows you to slide the most.

Any help would be appreciated greatly, cheers.

Try using something that's very tail-happy like the Dodge Viper. The Las Vegas circuit has some nice wide corners you can do long powerslides on.

the style racer achievement isn't easy to get, you have to do the following in a career race:
all kudo manouvres (slides, 360, air, 2 wheels, drafting, etc)
it must be a clean race !!!
          you must finish 1st.

if you played online career mode, you've probably got the 1000K in an online race and the online kudo's (25.000K I believe?)

I did it with the F50 and the final race of career mode (Nurburg ring F1 reversed).

          good luck !

Have a read through this: http://forums.xbox.com/1181644/ShowPost.aspx

Getting all the maneuvers in a race sounds more difficult than it is - it's tricky, but I found the hardest part was remembering which of the slides I hadn't done yet. Putting it on the lowest skill level on the final event actually gives you loads of time to get everything. Anyway, that link should tell you all you need to know.

Out of all the badges in the game ( the ones aside the achievements ) the one I've struggled to get is the Unending Powerslide Badge.

              Cheers guys! Done and done!

The only one I have left now is the Online Tournament Qualifier, which I really doubt I'll ever be able to get. Top 64 in the world? Yikes.

Especially if you're a fair driver and race the racing line, all the top times out there are by cheating bastards who wall bounce their way round. Hopefully Bizarre will address this in PGR4.

Pfft, that'll never happen. Driving games have and always will have exploits to abuse for fast time.

Well the inclusion of red time would be a major start.

It's true what you say, because if you watch the replays for the top guys, they will ram into a wall just before they turn into the corner, as a means to get their car down to the right apex speed. They still take the corner apex properly, but the way they achieve their 'fast' laps is false.

I have no doubts that with plenty of practice I could get my lap times down to their level, but I have never, and will never, resort to that type of play. Each to their own I guess.

yep, just as they did it in Forza.

I always try to make a clear/perfect lap, I don't like that wall cheating, those gus still have skills, but if I have to to it like that I'll stop playing,
highest I ever got on an online tournament was 128th overall, I gave up ever getting up there with the best 64....

Not only that the car bounces off at the right angle to hit the apex.

I think I managed to get into the top 500 on one of them and was wondering how the hell the top guys were managing to squeeze more out of the lap, until I watched one of the replays that is...had no idea that kind of **** went on. I threw in the towel there and then.

It'll be interesting to see how these top players (TTR especially) fair with Forza 2 and GTR2.

Don't worry, those TTR guys will be in the top of the leaderboards for sure with Forza2 and GTR2, they really are good,
just like with Forza on the xbox they were the fastest also, these guys have some real racing skills.

But still, I hope in GTR2 and Forza2 we won't see any cheating with the lap times.
