On the voice acting, I've yet to play this so I could find my experience is different but, right now, I think I would prefer for them to have dropped the voice acting rather than dropping the music if space was an issue.

The voiceovers certainly is one of the most memorable parts of the game!

They suck, but I'd miss them if they weren't there.

Bugger! Got bad ending again, but finished in 2hrs 10 mins which was a lot better than my previous run and I also unlocked the good old

*edit- before I attempt it again, I`d like to maybe ask you guys for some help with regards to getting to fight the Tyrant at the end of Jill`s game on classic mode.

From what I can remember about the original RE, Barry lived or died depending on whether you had to be rescued from the press room after collecting the shotgun. I have let him rescue me the first game and then used the broken shotgun the second time so he didn`t appear.

Then again, now I come to think about it, it could be after what happens in the guardhouse. In the two runs I`ve made through the game I mixed the V-Jolt compound both times and killed Plant 42 with one flame round. Obviously if the V-Jolt is used the plant doesn`t grab you and Barry doesn`t need to steam in with his flame thrower. Am I right??

How do I unlock the Master of Knifing mini game? I`ve completed classic mode twice. Do I get it after finishing Rebirth mode?

I believe you get the good ending if you wait for Barry to return with a replacement rope after dropping it (when you have killed the snake for the second time). I also think that its related to later whether you trust him etc (in the sewers). The bit regarding Plant 42 might be related to whether you hear the conversation of Barry talking to Wesker through the door. Not sure how that is ativated though - perhaps NOT going into the lab room where the V-JOLT is mixed up means you don't hear that conversation.. Lots of branches..

One thing though - in all the times I have played Biohazard, I have NEVER EVER had Barry recuse me from the shotgun room! Unbelivable! I have just run straight to it and got, or tried doing other stuff first etc. Never seen the cutscene!!

Really? He always appears with me, as long as I do not go up to the second floor. My usual play pattern sees me going straight past through the dog corridor into the shotgun room, and he never fails to appear! I do remember read it was based on whether you went upstairs first or not.

Why did they change Richard Aiken's voice actor I wonder? They must have told the new actor he had to deliver the lines really badly in order to fit in.
Brad Vickers sounds different too, but perhaps that's just me.

Classic mode is a joy as always. Rebirth is really catching me off guard. The rooms with mixes of monsters are really tricky. Just got killed by a crow in a room with two hunters.

They changed a voice actor? Must have been a contract problem - like when they had to replace Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

This should arrive today from Tronix. After the initial posts being quite negative about the knifing etc and things like the missing music, I don't have any high expectations for this other than simply being the PS1 RE on a handheld but I'm actually quite looking forward to it now. The original RE was special to a lot of us and, although time has ravished its once youthful looks, it's still a classic.

Just played Jill`s classic game again,

I let barry save me at the shotgun room, I didn`t mix the V-Jolt and I waited for Barry to reappear with a second rope after the clumsy bastard dropped it, I also went 1st in the caverns and allowed Barry to cover,

this gave me the good ending in 1hr 50mins.

Now to master Chris`s game before rebirth begins! 8)

My US copy arrived today, so it's out.

Who is the girl? Good question.
That's the girl known only as "Inezh", the actress who played Jill Valentine for the live action sequences in the original Resident Evil. No-one seems to know who she is.
