Originally posted by Mardigan8This sounds fantastic, does it provide anything other than a cosmetic overhaul? And how do you unlock this one? Nelo Angelo looked mean an the sound he made when he walked... amazing!!
Beating Very Hard unlocks Super Vergil, giving you the ability to stay DT indefinately, however, moves like Summon swords or DT explosion will still drain the DT gauge, and as well, while transformed, your health will not regenerate.
When you beat DMD, you get Super Corrupt Vergil, which, unlike Super Vergil, gives you infinite DT, and not even DT explosions will drain any DT energy, and your health will constantly regenerate, as well as your DT form is Nelo Angelo. This costume effectively makes u an upstoppable killing machine. And even the biggest newb can take Vergil3 on DMD with Super Corrupt Vergil.
The same breakdown works for Dante to, beating Very hard gives u Super Dante, allowing indefinate time in DT form, but quicksilver, DT explosion, and DOppelgagner will drain the DT bar. WHen you beat DMD, you get the Super Sparda costume, which is just like Super Corrupt Vergil, giving you unlimited DT energy no matter you do.
These new costumes are an amazing addition to the game, and another reason why CAPCOM f*cking pwns!!!

Got to say that with Dante though it had to be Nevan. Started off using trickster to avoid all her bat attacks until I was more comfortable with the patterns, then changed to Swordmaster using the stinger to get in quick for some orgasmic slashing and charged up DT releases. Just love the end of that fight when she starts trying to give you THE KISS. Airhike followed by plenty of unloading to keep off the floor - accompanied by the obligatory "Get the **** away from me you crazy bitch!!"
Doing the Gigapede without touching the floor is also another fav
I know I should be going to the gym tonight but really could do with a couple of hours on this instead >_<

Dude, about Vergil, he'll rape almost everything you put him against, but its all a level of comfort. Ands its not like the bosses are going newhere.
Ahhh Nevan, that Kiss can be used to make such a good finishing pose in mission 18. I find the Rocket works best for taking off her bat shield, as well as a charge Beowulf Straght punch.
Try this meth, when the fight starts, and she retreats back to the stairs, rush after her with some Stingers and Straights, and then do the SMALLEST back flip as she begins to Spin around, if you jump correctly you should be just outside of her attack range. While she spins, charge up a Beowulf straight (R1+Forward Triangle) and hold this down till Dante's fist begins to shake. When she stops, she'll say sugar, pause just a second and unleash hell. If it hits, it should fill the DT bar, and knock her shield right out. When the shield breaks, fire a shot of Spiral or a Rocket, and she'll be knocked down. From here, just beat the living **** out of her as she lays helplessy on the ground. I like Doppelganger style for that little number, as quad damage is never a bad thing. Mind you, the punch will only take her shield on in 1 punch if she is on the stairs near the speakers (where Dante plays the tune in the cinematic). On the other side, the punch will never take her shield off in one hit, but will only require about 1 more hit.
Rinse and repeat, and she's absolutely pwned.

Well so far Vergil has been pissing all over anything that comes up against him on Normal, and I mean taking out his wanger and whipping them across the face with it, seriously the guy should be locked up... charged Spiral swords, gattling attacks, Trick up and downing out his nut, sometimes he just does stuff on his own without me pressing anything he is that hard
Am on Mission 16 with a fully upgraded Vergil and am destroying everything that crosses my pathI haven't yet rinsed any boss fights with Vergil but fighting Beowulf with him was like night and day compared to my first crack at him with Dante. Vergil just rips him apart, using trick up and down to good affect he dont know WTF is going on, so that def my fave boss fight so far with Vergil.
BUT, on the original with Dante Vergil3 got so much abuse from my Dante he just started not showing up when I would fire up the mission, honestly, I would go to start it and he just wouldn't be thereI ripped that fight apart on Hard, getting my RG methods wired and I came away with some insane runs of that mission. So overall it is without doubt my fave boss fight and I cant wait to play through it with Vergil. Toward the end of the my play on the original RG was my weapon of choice for the boss fights as it allows you get in so personal with them and really mix it up... plus it is the most arrogant style in the game, "You wanna hit me, what now, NO, again? NO, again, NO, hahaha", parry, parry, parry, RELEASE... Total filth!!
Cant wait now to get Dante fired up again and get his styles tricked out.
Vergil3 for the best boss fight of all time

Very coolWhile I was looking through your SS Guide videos (excellent videos btw
) I found a video from Saurian:
It's a shame he doesn't post here any more. With everyone playing DMC3 again, it would have been great to get his insight. Does Venom743 still post here? His Royal Guard videos were superb
I know I'm very late to the party but I just started using Royal Guard for the first time tonight. It's so awesome!I knew it was the most difficult Style to learn, and that it requires a LOT of patience and repetition to work...but it's just so much fun
It's a shame...but I'll have to go through the whole game again using Royal Guard now. Damn

Yes, Venom was one of my main inspirations. I rememebr a year ago when I first joined this thread, and I looked up to him like he was a god, and in truth he was, and Suarian to. I watched the vid btw, great stuff. Venom does still post from time to time, he's more involved though with the new God Hand, which he started as well.
RG is hands down the best style in the game, if you master it. When you get godly though, u just sit there and each successful parry, the ping sound you hear, just makes u feel so dam good. Dont feel bad about playing it again with RG. I remember I started it again on HArd, and played thru only with RG, and lets just say, by the time I got to lvl 11, I was absolutely amazing with it. Anyone coming at me couldnt touch me, i would parry anything they threw at me, and just tear em to shreds. and the boss...dont even get me started. PLaying it thru, fresh start or not even, with RG, is one of the best things you can do to up your skills. Stick to it man, and you'll be happy u did in the long run.

CheersI'll watch those videos tonight
I'm already glad I started with RG. I've played through it with Gunslinger, Swordmaster and Trickster, so RG is the last one that I wanted to use. Since it's the hardest, I wanted to leave it until last. I played the first level over and over last night, just to practise parrying. I can parry the enemies on that level about 80% of the time, which I'm quite pleased about. I know it'll take hours and hours to refine and improve though, so I don't expect to be at your level within a day. I'm still taking a few hits, and sometimes a bit of damage when I do parry
I went up against my first boss using RG - Jester. I thought he'd be easy since his attacks are quite slow. Those electric balls are quite easy to parry so it was a good introduction to Royal Guard, IMO. Rinse and repeat another 8-9 times. A few gun shots later, I run up to him, Release and...BAM!! 60% of his energy bar disappearsRoyal Guard seems like the thing that was missing from all of the other styles. It's just so cocky and arrogant of Dante
On the second level I just stood in the middle of five different enemies and parried every attack. One button press later and three of them were dead

My favourite execution of RG has got to be on Vanguard (Mission 2) boss, if you get that clown wired up with RG you can make mince meat of him without using a weapon, just immaculate parrying and perfect timing of releases... what other style lets you destroy a boss without firing a gun or swinging a sword... FILTHY!!
