Boss fights are a LOT easier now. I've played each fight enought times to know their attack patterns. Now that I can just deflect that damage without worrying about running away, it's made it so much more fun. It's just such a change from Swordmaster. I started using RG at the same time as my mate did, and we both agree that RG now feels like the 'right' way to play the game. I know each Style has its benefits but RG is by far the most technical and most rewarding one

I'm still training on the first two stages (S-ranks on both on hard mode now). Most enemies are easy enough to parry but a few of the later enemies are still getting through my blocks. The Vanguard on level 2 is getting some major beatdowns now! I think my fastest time to beat him was about 15 seconds from the start of the fight until the end. He just doesn't know how to defend himself now. Beowulf plus Royal Guard gives him nightmares

Yeha man, once u master RG everything in the came becomes easier. Mind you, using RG against some of the bosses I find is very unpractible. I cant stand fighting Geryon, Arkham, Leviathon, or the doppelganger with RG. Some of the other styles are much more effecitve, not to mention much easier to implement, and definately require less practice.

The Vanguard shouldnt even be considered a boss, lol. There are much harder enemies to kill in my opinion. ALthough if there's more than one, and their both DT'd, that can be extremely challenging. There's one level in bloody palace where you have to fight 3 dt'd Vanguards at the same time!!! and each of them can teleport 3 times. Now thats what I call a boss fight

Just like to say that after reading this thread and some other posts on DMC4 I decided to give DMC one last chance.

I turned my back on Dante after that bloody scorpion killed me a dozen times and haven't tried since. But this week i've been button mashing away and that fat bastard is no more, i can't say i'm enjoying it but i've mashed my way thu to mission 9 or so and am currently fighing that demon bird.

One question i'd like to ask is, it better to keep going back into rooms to kill more and more bad guys in order to get red orbs or should i just aim for the mission objectives.

Alrite, sry for my absense guys. Too much Godhand and MK: Armagedon.

As promised, I have a few new vids to post here. There are 2 links for each, one for my profile at FileFront, and the other is youtube, the vids arent that big though, so I would recommend d/ling them from Filefront, since youtube wrecks the quality.

Had one of the best gaming moments ever on this yesteday.. I was playing with one of the secret levels

The kill all the bad guys one

and I was completely surrounded by Vanguards and just kept bashing away with the guard and attack buttons. Couldn't see what was happening at all, but just keep reflecting their attacks and parrying others.

Then a huge devil release, I popped out in to the open and then just kicked arse... This is the sort of game where after a while you make HUGE leaps with your gaming skill. Just ****ing excellent.

Went back to the level straight away and then played at counter-ing the vanguards vertical slash with a guard release. Then doing the same with cerebus, then mixing between cerebus and guard releases.. OOOO YES

And I STILL haven't played as Vergil yet.

Picked this up the other day - haven't played DMC for a couple of years - I am absolutely useless & kept trying to pull off GOW (roll + block) moves!!!

Need mega practice & need to unlearn my GOW skills (pitiful as they are as well )

hey guys, anyone still play this game???

Managed to finish up a combo video; The Archangels of War, featuring Swordmaster, Gunslinger, and Dark Salyer combos.

Currently, I have three versions online:

If you want to d/l with a DSL connection, follow this link: http://files.filefront.com/Archangel.../fileinfo.html

If you have dial-up, this: http://files.filefront.com/Archangel.../fileinfo.html

And of course, the youtube link:

hope there is someone on here is still playing this...

I am! Actually I've just finished DMD with both Dante & Vergil this week. I originally beat DMC3 regular edition on DMD so I thought it would be kind of easy but I got taught a lesson in overconfidence, haha! Actually Dante was easier this time, I only resorted to vital stars on 4 missions - 13, 18, 19, 20. Vergil is effing powerful but there is one mission where I was shown a world of pain - literally - my hand was in agony. That f***ing chess board!

Is there a good tactic for this with Vergil? Dante is gifted with RG, so it's a cake walk for him. With Vergil what I attempted to do was:

Take out the advancing pawns with judgment cuts and a full DT release.
Kill the queen as it's impossible to concentrate on anything with her around.
Next target the bishops to prevent them healing the rest of the board.
                  Then go after the rooks.
Finally there should just be knights and the king, safe enough to judgment cut them from a distance.

All in all that plan took me about 3 hours - 2 hours of restarting and 1 hour of battling to victory. I really wanted my bed but when I finally got past the stage of killing the queen I had to keep going. Used every item in my inventory too. There HAS to be an easier way!

After the DMD war was over I took my first dip into bloody palace with super corrupt vergil - I know he's cheap, but I cleared all 9999 levels the first time! I had hoped bloody palace would be a little more involving, as it is the early levels are too easy and take too long to get through to reach a decent challenge so I doubt I'll play it much. More fun mucking around in the real missions. I'll just do it one more time with Dante to get my artwork.

next I'm going after S ranks and SS ranks, but before that as a diversion I started playing the original DMC again. First time in full NTSC speed. Still love it, it's a real challenge... but DMC3 is the boss.

Fingers crossed for DMC4, but I'm not liking what I've seen too much, it looks too clean and bright... just hope they don't make another DMC2!

Bah.. Got back into this now, it controls soo much better than GOW2. When I block in DMC3 it blocks, rather than the delay that seems to be there in GOW..

                      Such a great game.
