I played this all those years ago on the PS1. It started off quite promising and then about four hours in it hit me that I wasn't really enjoying it. I thought to myself that I'd persevere and that it was bound to get better. Thirty hours later I was so pleased to see the end credits after at times being bored out of my mind. I just wish I'd gven up after four hours. I think I'm in the minority for not liking it, but I just found it so very tedious.
Anyhow for those of you unlike me who are enjoying it have fun finding al the Mysterious Wonderchefs!

Anyone know what might cause this, or shall I assume it's a duff game?

Anyone mastered the combat yet? I really got into combo building on Symphonia, but the attacks here don't seem to link as fluently. I'm using the same moves at the same time, and they look like they are linking, but at the end of battle screen, I see highest combo = 5 as often as I see highest combo 15...
I did pull off a 17 move combo, but again, it felt random rather than skill based. Still loving it though after 15 hours (oooh, Celestia!). Just wish I was better at the old fisticuffs.

Yeah, the combat doesn't seem as combo-based as Symphonia did. But regardless of that it's still a rather special game. The characters are becoming more likeable as the story progresses, and it has enough twists and turns in the plot to keep a newbie to RPGs like me entertained. Graphically the game is awesome, with a mixture of 2D and 3D that feels right at home.
I'm only about 9 and a half hours in, so I can't give an informed review yet, but what I've seen so far, and having loved Tales of Symphonia to bits, I like Eternia a lot. I have one question though...
Does Fighting of the Spirit make an appearance in this game anywhere? It's a track used in Symphonia I heard they used in several other Tales games. I'm hoping to fight to that, even though the current battle music is nothing to shrug your shoulders at. Repetitive is the audio key to an RPG.

Ack, i'm stuck on the wind boss. Managed to kill the 2 guys helping the boss but can't seem to finish the boss off. Also my reverse doll accessories seem to have disappeared so my party don't come back to life automatically. Another pain is there's no camping place near so i can't revive my party.
I may have to go back and bump my levels up.
Anyway i'm starting to enjoy this

I'm at a really horrible bit. Maybe it's only me finding this bit lame, but it has really thrown a dampener on a thouroughly enjoyable 17 hours!
It's that stupid dungeon where a locker holds a key, shovel and dynamite, so as you progress, you have a third of a chance of having the right tool. If not, back you go, then you take the tool, come to the next obstacle, and, yup, backtrack again to get the right one. How long this goes on for I have no idea, but it is seriously testing my patience

I have been playing this since Thursday evening (when my PSP arrived) and have to say I am enjoying it so far (so much so that GTA hasn't even been booted up yet)
I'm at the entrance t the Slph Cavern now with my levels at 24 or 25 for all my party members.
Is there any way to get back to the Dojo near the start of the game as I want to change to manual control instead of semi auto.
