Been playing loads today - been all over the place doing the odd quest here and there. Having some problems when I have to talk to specific people but they don't like me so I have to use the speechcraft to win them over - I can only get round that with bribes - even after reading the manual on how to do it , it doesnt quite make sense to me!

Nirnroots are awesome, I love the sound when you have one close to you. I ended up with around 150 of them at the end!

Sound? I've never heard any sound effect playing when i'm near a Nirnroot?

Then again, i've got crappy little speakers on my TV anyway.

Yeah, it's very faint but when you've got good big speakers you'll probably hear it more, but it helps direct you to the plant as when you hear it you just spin your guy around until it's coming out the front speakers.

I spent a couple of hours last night picking Nirnroots (I've put countless hours into the game across two different platforms and hadn't heard that sound until last night! ), looking for clams and laying waste to the mudcrab population of Cyrodiil, whilst taking in the amazing dawn/dusk views.

I went to put this on and realised my mate still has it. Totally gutted.

I love talking about the game though anyway.

I ended up playing this most of the day. Was totally awesome going through some mountain pass picking off huge ogres with my bow. Originally I played a very basic heavy armour with sword type before stopping. This whole night elf with speed / jumping skill is a lot more fun. Picking enemies off whilst stealthed is great and i'm enjoying the theraputic 'thud' as the arrows hit their marks.

At one point I managed to pick off a deer from a great distance with one shot , the body then rolled down the hill for a while due to the quite amazing physics engine - I was incredibly pleased with myself.

Took a few snaps for a mate who's getting this very soon to get him pumped - they might also work for anybody else thinking about stepping back in or picking the game up for the first time. Very overwhelming but incredibly magical experience so far!

Are those PC shots, looks gorgeous!?

Need to get back into this, and yeh the zooming with the bow is awesome!

360 shots them. The camera always makes 360 shots look ever so slightly better texture wise than they actually are though

I've not really bothered with the bow in any of my characters as I've usually concentrated on the heavier weapons.

When I try with the bow against some thing like a deer, if I'm lucky I'll hit them once before the run off. What sort of length of time is needed before you can do something useful with a bow as it could be really useful for me?

Well you can always enchant them so you can do like fire damage or soul trap etc on the beasts you kill which helps! And then you can enchant the arrows too. And if you have high marksman skill and are sneaking when you kill them their dead in no time.

I think it depends how light you are on your feet also - I can get really close to deer now before they leg it. On my original heavy armour bloke they legged it when I was 2 miles away.

                            Enchanted arrows?! Im intrigued

I never used enchanted arrows before, it seemed to take a lot of effort to do the whole process, especially that my thief class isn't anything to do with magic.

I hardly ever use food because I just replenish my health with a quick spell. hmm, it sorta defeats the object of having food to eat but I guess they have other properties too. I tried fiddling with a pestle and mortar but my creations bore no worth..

still loving this game though, it doesn't even really seem like a game anymore :cough:
