Glad it didn't have a flight powerup - it broke SMW tbh.
If you had played the e-reader levels on smb3 youd see how bland nsmb's levels look (^_^)

every single smb3 ereader level beats nsmb hands down.

I'm really enjoying this. It's been years since I finished SMW and glad to have some decent 2d mario action again.

Do you actually get 3 stars on your game save? I have collected all the coins and spent them, I get a special notification to let me know this on the level select screen - however on the gamesave screen only 2 stars are shown - am I missing something??

yeah i have all coins spent on the top screen but on my save game i have 3 stars

3 stars is (i believe) when you have entered every room in the game and found all exits, at each level you've entered is blue and levels you havent entered are red

i still had to go into a cannon even though i think i had all the exits and i had 2 stars, used the cannon and i had the 3 stars

              DONE!!

I thought I had the secret exits thing cracked when I got the 2 stars next to my save! I was surprised to have not got all 3 stars when all the coins were found and spent!

It turned out I had missed a red flag exit on 7-4 to the green mushroom house - fiendish!!

Anyhow this is an absolutely excellent game from start to finish, so many magical little touches. For my money as good as SMW, it is not the perfect game but overuse of the cape to soar through difficult levels killed SMW a bit, and it's not exactly like finding all 96 levels took that long. I think I have had more longevity out of NSMB tbh.

Level 6 has some stonking levels. I really like the wall bouncing addition. There are some nods to the retro aspects of the series which made me smile in places.

Buy it now if you haven't already (multiplayer is good fun too!!)

Ordered this yesterday. I had heard that it was short but two hours! I don't think collecting everything will take particularly long either.

I hope it has V. good replay ability.

                Question: What is multiplayer like?

Two modes - a head to head mario vs luigi platform thing. Quite fun but limited. And a ton of multiplayer mini-games, most of which come from Mario 64DS. I really like them personally, lots of variety and fun.

As long as there are a few new good ones...

No. Not two hours. More like about 5 including doing everything. I've finished it to 1 star level this morning anyway, going about getting the rest of the coins now, probably missed about 10.

LOL - That's because I am starting all over again on Save 2!! Check me again in a few weeks, I'll have all 3 saves done without copying!

I don't blame you, it's a damn good experience worth playing through again. I may have to delete one of the slots, and play through the whole thing as Luigi.

Nintendo's franchises have never really grabbed me for whatever reason, though strangely I have a hefty number of Nintendo consoles (all save DD in fact) and games for said platforms.

I would not have bought this normally speaking as such but Toys R Us here in Canuckland had an irresistible deal of a mere $5.00 for the game with the purchase of a DSL. Not a phenomenal game by any means, and doesn't take the place of Feel the Magic/WDCM/Trace Memory for me - but *excellent* regardless.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, it's the first I've seen of it.
