Couldn't be more annoyed with this game this morning; last night I finally acquired the Zombie Genocider achievement after hours of repetitively mowing them down & I had just enough time left in the game to leave Frank outside on a roof so I could get the Outdoorsman one too.

However this meant leaving it on overnight as I was off to sleep. No problem I thought, I'll just plug in the Play & Charge cable so it doesn't run out of charge & then come down in the morning to save it.

Came down this morning to find the bloody thing has turned itself off, so I've still got the achievements logged but not the bonus items as I couldn't make a new save.

So I have the choice of either reloading my last save & killing another 34,000 zombies again or just giving up. So mad.

On Infinite Mode.... what's the best strategy with food?.... Can you 'drop off' the food to a safe place and it will be there the entire game?..... So in theory you could just sit it out there in between looking for survivors and psychos?

        POW! 7 Day Achievment GET!

        Its.Zinger.Tower.Time!

Gonna pause it, and hopefully I can carry on as long as I can when I get back if I can be arsed. Phew...what a mission.

So I was reading one of the FAQs and GameFAQs.com about how in the first section in the Entrance Plaza, if you kill at least 600 zombies before going up the stairs, it essentially makes the 3 day period more of a sandbox kind of game, since the case files never happen.

Once you get the map and radio from Otis, going into the Warehouse triggers the Queen Bee cut scene rather than the usual one where Jessie gives you the gun. You don't get any casefiles, never meet Carlito or Isabella and the troops don't arrive (although, I'm only on day two myself).... You still get calls from Otis about survivors.

I'm trying to get the Zombie Genocide achievement, I thought it would be helpful for that, just to have a few less distractions. It's super-repetitive, but once you get in the groove, it's OK for 30 min. blasts...... I've hit on the routine of getting the red car, driving down the tunnel, going left and going back and forth between the entrance and butcher's entrance until the car packs in, grabbing the van from there, then driving down to get the white car, and back out to get the red car...... I killed the convicts and took their vehicle down, but I couldn't find it when I went back out, so I'm guessing it only respawns when they do?...

They never respawned for me after I killed them and destroyed their jeep. Had heard so many people bitching about the respawn but never happened for me - probably because I wanted them to be there so I could use their gun again for punishing evil.

I can feel your satisfaction. I can't wait until I get my game back.

Has anyone done a run-through of trying to do everything, or is it just not possible resucing everyone, meeting all the psychopaths and doing all the case files in one game?

The time is so tight!..... On the first day, I had loads of time left after all the scoops had been done, but day two is posing more problematic.

                Trying to get all

4 girls from 'Above The Law', as well as The Coward, the two people hanging from the Bunny in Wonderland Plaza, the fat guy in the Restuarant, and the Erotica shot with Kent, AND the Machette guy all before the next case file

..... I've tried going for the survivors first, before the pyscho, but I run out of time before I get to the far end of the North Plaza, the other way round I lose

some of the girls from Jo the Cop

                .

This is definately where more than one save would come in handy, trying to perfect your run-through.

                  I've done it twice.

I was even sad enough to make myself a little text file journal the second time around, recording the actions I took.

Oh wow, right.... That's great!... You didn't happen to keep that text file did you?

I buggered my last game up, gave it several tries trying to save all those 7 survivors and get to Cliff before the next Case File, but just couldn't do it, so I gave up that game and spend the rest of the 72 hours going after odd achievements I hadn't done..... Got the Clothes Horse, Zombie Rider, Gormet.... and Karate Champ.... Frank looks great in those Capcom undies

I'm giving it another go now, I really want that 'Saint' achievement, since it's the one that seems like you've completed the game "proper", you know.... see all the psychos, rescue all the survivors.

Just to point out to the guy who's Xbox 360 turned off when he went out or whatever. It's your fault mate, as the Xbox 360's default setting is to NOT turn off after 6 hours of not playing - you've obviously set it to Yes at some point.

And if you're doing infinite mode I suggest getting 3 books that triple the power of food.

I did the 2 x 24 hour achievements yesterday, very very easy with a WIRED pad. Start the game, stay outside on the helipad for 24 hours, then go inside and just leave it for 24 hours. With a wired pad the game doesn't pause because the pad turns off.

I may try the genocider next, but it was SOOOOO boring to even get to 4000 when I've played it through 4 times.

The Zombie Genocider was dull, but after 30,000 or so, it seemed a lot more attainable and it didn't seem so long after that....I did it in 72 Hour Mode, so after 10,000 or so I could end the session, and save the game, it would drive me mad to do it in one session!

The method I had was the Maintenance tunnels (of course!)....

Grab the red car, down to the van where I'd go back and forth along that route until the car packed in, then into the van, down to the white car, where I took the long route back to the outside, where I'd pick up the red car again

..... Each trip would net a decent amount of kills.

                          ///////

I've done the first day so many times now, I've got it down to a T..... I'm currently waiting till 6:00am on day two for the next case to start, and all the survivors are safe and sound by 2:30am.... I got brave and took Greg and the two Japanese tourists into the north plaza to get David, they did all have shotguns, except David of course..... Just gotta remember to save regularly on day two so I don't get stuck with time like before, I really want to get the Saint achievement now.

The game does makes it obscenely easy to transport injured survivors, you can walk through swarms of zombies without them flinching an eyelid at you!

Yeah, I know roughly the route in the tunnels it's just it's SO boring I can't bring myself to do it!

Some of the easier ones I've not gotten, like the 10 pyshos etc, I keep missing one or two in a playthrough and I always forget to take their photos!

I think I've just gotten to the point of boredom with the game. Not bad though, 4 playthroughs!

Gah!..... I finally got everyone back to the Security Room before the Girl Hunting case on Day 2. So tight, I dunno why I didn't think to before, but I took the 3 survivors

Cliff had in the room next to Crislips

back through the Leisure Park, where as before I'd gone through Wonderland Plaza.

I did 'Above The Law' BEFORE 'Machette Man', even though the latter was bright red at the time..... I've tried it the other way round, and everytime Jo only has one of the girls tied up instead of all 4 (I find these 4 to be probably the most STUPID of the non-injured survivors of the lot).

Things do happen at roughly different times don't they... Because when I've done 'Above The Law' before,

the two hanging off the Bunny

have been there as I came out, but I think because I did it as early as possible, I missed them, and not using Wonderland Plaza to get back to PP, I also didn't see them.... Hopefully Otis calls about them, otherwise it's curtains for this playthrough!

The Mega-Buster has been a God-send though, so glad I did the Zombie Genocider, it made facing Cliff a sinch, took a few seconds, where as before I always found it arduous to find him in the Hardware store after he'd jumped down one of his holes.
