          "Frank the Pimp"

          http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/attachment...id=12505&stc=1

Even chose Frank's suit especially for the occassion.

I had originally planned to see how many survivors I could drag around with me. I did get all of the first 7 survivors together and then the game stopped generating the scoops . I think 8 must be the maximum number of survivors that Frank is permitted to escort at anyone time, as when I decided I would go for Frank the pimp and reduce the numbers in the group, the scoops started again. The scoops that wer ebeing omitted would have taken the party number over 8.

Please don't read the stuff in the spoiler tags, if either, you don't want to the order that the rescue went in, or you have still to discover all the scoops/characters for yourself.

After it was apparent that no more scoops were going to come through until I reduced the groups numbers. I dispatched Jeff, Bill, Brad and Aaron. Leah was becoming a burden so was next and Natalie I only lasted until the next morning until I decided her crying had to stop.

Sophie got dragged around with me as we killed all the male survivors we found on the rest of Day 1.

Greg was the only one who was allowed a stay of execution but only until he pointed out the wonderland plaza shortcut.

6.00am day 2 and Sophie somehow got into the security room ( I had set her a waypoint to stay on the roof while I went inside to trigger the next case file, so I could get the entrance to entrance plaza opened for me.).

So in the end, day 2 started with Frank having to find some women again.

Tonya I brought back with me during the medicine run, Ross I put out of his misery as soon as the pair of them joined.

Pamela and Heather were rescued next in Paradise Plaza.

Then, despite going in and out of Paradise Plaza through all the available exits, the cutscene with Sean the cult leader and Jennifer, didn't get generated at the time it should have.

Had to wait ages for the next scoop relevant to this acheivement.

Kay, Lilly, Kelly and Janet joined after Jo the cop was killed ikn Wonderland Plaza.

I was hoping to see Nick and Sally there, as they should have been there at the same time as the call about Jo came through, but they weren't.
Againg I think this is due to the fact that my numbers would have been over 8 if they both got saved.

On returning to Paradise Plaza after going across the park, the cultist leader cutscene eventually triggered and was played out well behind schedule.

I wasn't bothered though as that rescue is the easiest of them all, and with that I got my 8 female survivors.

Come to think of it, this would probably also unlock the tourist acheivement as well.

In the end it's taken 3 runs through day 1 and day 2 to get this to unlock, phew.

It's a shame that massive groups of survivors can't be formed but I suppose that would completely break the sometimes ropey AI. "Follow Me!!"

Second playthrough now...I am REALLY struggling with the survivors. They are just SO ****ing useless. You dispatch the zombies to make a path and they'll run into a crowd of them they don't need to.

I give them guns, they shoot at me or nothing.

Seriously, this second playthrough is nearly a gamebreaker, I can't stand it anymore. I got 4 following me, which was a terrible chore...then they just ran into zombies and I couldn't save them. DESPITE them having weapons.

I tried the Japanese tourist scoop, gave them both Katana's yet they still died!

It's driving me insane, so I'm just ignoring them and saving one at a time or just doing the pyschopaths I missed first time.

Jebus, what level is Frank at?

I didn't start trying to save everyone until he was maxed out at 50 and i knew my way round the mall, and noted down the times and places of all the scoops I had covered so I could plan a course of action.

I never give my survivors melee weapons, especially swords or such like as they are slow to use them and not very effective either.

Also who are you giving guns to? And what guns are you giving them to use?

I have some tips (spoilers) I can pass on from my own play experiences, that's if you are interested?

Edit: Are you giving the survivors waypoints or just getting them to follow, I do a mixture of both. if the way ahead i send them off to a safer spot, either in a shop or up against a wall in the park area if we're outside. Kill the zombies and call them back in to form up with Frank.

Frank is level 32 and I know the mall like the back of my hand. I'm giving every survivor I can a gun! I want to set waypoints with the map but you can't which is disappointing, I've done it by mistake but not sure how to do it in game, otherwise "Follow Me" and they ****ing don't.

I'm definitely interested because I had the mother who lost her baby, the 2 guys from behind the baracade and the lass from the park and they all got mullered by zombies on the walk through the park because they didn't follow me but went into a load of zombies, even though I cleared a path. THAT is what is frustrating me..."Follow me" but they just bloody don't!!!!

It's really poorly done in my eyes, if you have a fully fit survivor with a handgun they'll get chomped, but if you have someone on your back or you are offering a shoulder to, or holding hands you can literally walk through a pack of zombies like you aren't there, they just ignore you. Surely it should be harder with an injured person, but it isn't! I hate that as well, you could actually cheat in this game by carrying around an injured person the whole game, the zombies would never go for you!

If the survivors aren't pulling their weight then they need to be stripped of the 'survivor' title... sledgehammer to the rescue!! I used to think it was a bit rough being able to hurt the survivors, (after doing it by accident a few times). A few more hours of playtime and I've come to realise there's nothing quite as good as smacking the **** of an idiot survivor.

On the other hand, last night, after dragging back some special needs survivors, I ended up rescuing some fat bloke. I thought "here we go again...". But no! Every time I looked around expecting him to be 100m away, wearing a beard of zombies, he was right behind me. I was shocked!

The save system/structure/replay-a-go-go nature of the game makes me not really care too much about whether I stuff up a particular run through. If something goes wrong then too bad punk, better luck next time

                      Hi Jebus,

Why I was suggesting using a level 50 Frank to attempt rescuing every survivor, was mainly down to the number of items he can carry. For me half the my item boxes are for carrying weapons to give to survivors and carrying food supplies to heal them if they get injured in the melee.

                      Waypoints.

Frank can tell survivors to go to a point on screen by holding down the right trigger and pressing Y. A blue box with a walking signal will appear and the survivors will make their way to that point.

Things to watch out for make sure the direct route to that safe point is clear, the survivors will still run into danger if the path is filled with zombies.

If your outside in the park, near an entrance you want to use and the path is filled with zombies, send the survivors to stand adjacent to a wall, now they are protected from the rear. They can pick of any stray zombies and you can concentrate on clearing the way.

Another way to to deal with the park entrances is to have Frank lead the way with survivors following. Do a jump kick into a zombie gaurding the door and then as Frank lands press X again to perform a roundhouse to clear a few more zombies (I can't remember at what level you get this skill), then immediately press B to go through the door. Providing the survivors were close enough behind you will all go through the door into the part of the mall you were trying to reach.

                      Survivors following Frank.

I have found this could be frustrating at first but I think, the key here is not to stray to far ahead. Don't become detatched from your group. They also appear to plot their course based on Franks position when he last called them. I often spin the camera around while mainting Franks forward momentum to see where the survivors are and then adjust my route accordingly if they look like their going to run into trouble. If a survivor that was lagging behind gets caught up with a zombie that's grabbed them set a waypoint for the others to go to. Run back and free the trapped survivor head back to the waypoint with them and once there call all the group back in together.

                      Injured survivors.

I expect your already do this but it eay to take for granted, if someone gets hurt give them food, orange juice, cofee creamer or wine for best healing results.

Arming survivors. (More magic bullets, than Bullet Witch)

First things, first, when survivors fire guns the ammunition doesn't get depleted which means you can carry the same guns for more or less the entire 72 hours.

On day 2 when dealing with cultists I'll often borrow a gun back from a survivor and empty down to it's last shot give it back to them knowing that it will still be okay for them.

Handguns are okay if no other guns are to hand, but lack stopping power and the rate of fire is low.

Sub machine guns have great rate of fire and can be given to both male and female survivors who can accept weapons. In my explorations I have found 3 locations for sub machine guns, they will not respawn until all the ammo has been used. They will respawn to the location they were found at originally.

                      The 3 locations are:

                      1.

On top of blue canopy in Paradise Plaza, go up the stairs jump up from the stairs run along the first narrow ledge, jump the next two to get to it.

                      2.

In the maintenance tunnel warehouse behind the crates at the rear left as you enter the room.

                      3.

In the fountain in Al Fresco Plaza, alongside some dumbells

Shotguns can only be carried by male survivors and are very deadly especially in groups of two or more. There will be times when you are clearing a path and get grabbed by a zombie only to get shot free, very handy.

                      Some ways to get shotguns.

In the very opening scene in which Frank must get to the stairs one of the survivors (not really appropriate given that they all die), Brian Reynolds is seen holding a shotgun. When he dies, pick it up and take it with you before you head up the stairs.

A sneaky approach to get additional shotguns is to go to the gunshop as soon as you start a new game. I originally did this to with a view to improving my chances against Carlito in the opening encounter with him. Getting to gunshop so early in the game you will find it's empty, you can then take all 3 shotguns and the 2 sniper rifles if you so wish. (I get Cletus likes to sleep in. )

Managing your Arsenal, when you are back to the relative safety of the warehouse and you have cleared the lift of zombies, destroy a manequin, start picking up pieces of the manequin and swap them for the guns you want to get back. (That way you don't have to get anymore, ever!! Unless you use up the ammo, that is.)

                      A final comment about waypoints.

Two great waypoints are the restrooms in Paradise Plaza and Wonderland Plaza.

Use these areas when you are performing scoops in these locations and know you will be going back through the restroom. The survivors will be out of harms way leaving Frank free to concentrate on completing the task.

Other waypoints to set indoors are to send your group into shops, they may have the odd stray zombie pay them a visit, but will be able to deal with it. Again, very handy when you want to explore with Frank.

Having said all that, on my speed runs I have generally had the group follow Frank, going to waypoints only if really needed. I don't think I could balance the time needed to go back to locations that aren't on Franks immediate route, to save everyone and complete all the cases.

                      Sorry for the long post.

I really hate the last bit of the game

As if that tank wasn't annoying enough already, the SWAT guy keeps killing me. He has a 1 hit kill attack for chissake, sent me back to do the whole thing from the end of the tunnel again now for 3 times already. As I've said before, the save system doesn't bother me but for this fight a restart from the 2nd part of the battle would've been much needed. And there should be a law against 1 hit kill attacks .

I'm taking a break from my bare knuckle challenge. 505 kills so far having not used any weapons and loving all of Franks hand to hand moves - some of which I probably wouldn't have even seen due to my over-reliance on the mini chainsaw.

I have all of my slots filled with orange juice just incase, but made the mistake of triggering Kent who has been following me around and often shooting me in the head or stealing my kills The little ginger bastard!

Looking forward to hearing that achievement pop so I can go and do same damage down in the tunnels - on level 30 at the moment but aiming for at least 35 today...

Out of interest, I'd like to know how many you end up killing when the you've unlocked this acheivement. I ended up killing 1396, and I think the game only counts the kills that generate a PP score on screen when you kill them.

I also seem to remember Spatial101 had to kill many thousands more, before it unlocked for him.

Aww man I'm feeling robbed right now. Got up to 999 kills all bare handed and found a keen zombie to be my 1,000 kill with a taste suplex off the edge of the stairs and then...nothing First off I thought it might have been Kent messing things up for me but his kills didn't register. I guess you may be onto something with the PP score kills only, which is gonna make this even more of a challenge. Will let you know what total it unlocks at and start working on my spins, round house and suplex only kills. Damn that was disapointing though

                                EDIT!!!11!!!!!11!!1!!!

1,042 kills was the magic number in the end Find it hard to believe that I only did 42 non PP scoring kills - maybe this is just a bug?

Anyways, this game has made me camera mad. Here is Frank feeling all powerful just after unlocking the Karate Champ - DIE ZOMBIE PIG!!!
