OMG the last boss is possibly one of the cheapest Ive ever seen, Ive actually just thrown my controller I cant even take 1/8 of his health off on my 3rd attempt, I really cant be bothered waiting for chance opportunities, **** you Capcom, the game was brilliant up until now but it seems like the sudden hike in difficulty has made it so only the elite can see the ending, Im almost enraged

      @ erhgiez. I know he's a

real cheap boss, but if you stand on the lower part of the tank and wait for Brock to jump down to you, he becomes vulnerable, and after a good kick in the head he'll jump back up to the higher platform. Just repeat this attack and you shouldn't get harmed

Don't Capcom realise we all have jobs/lives/etc ? I am currently camping out on the roof of the wooden hut in the Leisure Park, slowly watching the day go by and my health slowly decrease. I picked up the 100% increase of food intake book which will seriously help matters. Now I am just hoping to see good old clowny Steve; I want his chainsaws Going to have to turn off soon though, so might be better to start this on a weekend morning or something.

I started it the other day and got part of the way through day 2 and died trying to take out the boss in the hardware store as I'd ran out of food, need to really try again and plan it a little better. Would probably benefit at getting to level 50 too.

I think it's a great mode too, it really feels like you're out there to survive and really have to plan things to get through to the 7 days survived achievement.

The lack of saving is a shame though.

                    Ha-ha!

I just discovered the disembowel move..... Tried it out on Gil, who apparently is absolutely STUFFED FULL of guts, because no matter how many times I did, he just got straight back up again!

I felt exactly the same and even my wife was raging about that! (She's not a videogame fan per say (except Nintendo DS) but she likes watching the stories...).

Here's how I did it on my second attempt.

Never be on the same level as him, whichever level he's on, be on the other. As soon as he jumps down, do the jump kick and as SOON as you land, jump up to the next level...he'll follow so jump back down...repeat this for the win without a single bit of health going.

It's one of the cheapest boss fights I've ever seen and even worse that you have the easy but long
fight before and can't save. So, for the win you just have to be as cheap as possible.

I also found that because that takes SO bloody long, do the lariat move a lot (the spinny arms move, hold stick and press X). He'll block but it'll take a fair bit of energy, then as I said before, just jump up or down to the level he's not on, and repeat. Either of these cheap ways work but to be honest I felt it ruined a good games ending.

On another note, finished my second playthrough the other night...the triple booked chainsaw makes the game hilariously easy, I got ending B (ending A first time) and I actually think that ending B is the best ending!

You may not expose the truth and it tends to imply the world gets taken over, but you get to actually see the people you saved escape, and you yourself escape!

I do plan to play this again, but having some quality time with Saints Row...infinite mode is yet to be played but it seems to want time I don't have. I missed some pyscho's the second time round as well...I didn't see the gun shop scoop at all...I think I missed 2 but not sure who the other one was!

                        I just completeed Overtime mode.......

The tank was a pain in the arse because it took so long..... But Brock was piss easy...... I am on Lvl 50, but all it took was a few flying kicks and foot stomps (or whatever they are, jump and press down and attack).... He went down in no time at all.

Poor Frank!.... I guess we wait till the sequel to see if he and Isabella get out of that alive or not

Bring on Dead Rising 2! ......... Better Survivor AI, more than 1 save please!!

                        Frank......
Definately in the running for sexiest male video game character

                          The end text

heavily implies that Frank got out and spread the word, but the world soon forgot about the zombie outbreak in Willamette. It also implies that nothing happened with the infected kids

Earlier on in this thread I was kind of baffled as to why they couldn't have done a little cutscene to explain

how they managed to escape, but when you consider Frank managed to fight his way through a whole mall full of zombies and psychos, a few more surrounding a tank aren't going to cause him that much grief

Having trouble understanding quite how to make simple progression in this game...

Started game following mission objectived as normal, got a bit of extra PP at the start by taking some pictures with that camera bloke, went outside to the other side of the center area, and fought with that bloke (in the cowboy-themed area). Lvl5 now. Walk around a bit, trying to rescue survivors but since I must take them all the way to the start (because the EXIT) doors are locked, they're all dying. I reach a point where I must go back across the center area... I go outside, those convicts are out there - no chance to beat them at my lvl. People seem to recommend lvl15 - how the heck do I reach that by then?!

Restart over, saving stats... now the convicts appear earlier, first time I go outside. S Still only lvl6. wtf?

It's true the game seems unfairly pegged towards Frank having a higher level..... it seems frustrating at first, despite it being a lot of fun also.

Taking survivors back to the security room will quickly get a lot easier with

a shortcut back to Paradise Plaza

, so don't worry too much about the convicts.

Just remember, if you die, save your stats, so you can start again with a higher level.... I'm sure it's possible to play it through on the first go from start to finish, but it would be incredibly difficult, it does seem the game is designed to be played several times, not only to build up your level, but also to see everything, since it's very tight on time, it's unlikely you'll save everyone and see everything in one run through.

Remember to manage your time.... The case files are more important than survivors, but rescuing survivors nets your lots of PP and thus is the easiest way to level up..... You will get more confident at rescuing survivors and learn when they appear and learn to rescue gangs of them, rather one at a time..... I think one of the earliest survivor rescues in the game are

the two guys barracaded in a shop in Al Fresca Plaza

..... And shortly after that, an hour or so -

The woman who lost her baby, also in Al Fresca in the jewellery shop

....... If you can manage your time so that you can get all these survivors in one run, I think that should be the

last time you HAVE to take survivors through the park

                              ... I always leave

Sophie, who is being chased by the convicts as they seem to go after her, leaving it a little easier to take the 3 survivors above through the park.... Poor Sophie.... But you can't make an omlette without breaking eggs!

One of the best weapons early on is the sledgehammer.... Holding down X makes Frank swing it, taking out all surrounding zombies..... And

you can pick them up every time you leave the security room by taking the door into the warehouse, not the lift, just jump across the top of the shelves and there's one there.

Lastly, when rescuing survivors, it's easier to use way-points, at relatively short distances (too far and the zombies can respawn in the previous areas)..... Using way points to direct survivors works a lot better than them following you...... Survivors also seem to handle guns better than other kinds of weapons, so kill a few cops and give their guns to the survivors that can take them.

Persevere, I was well P.O'd with the game at first, but you kind of hit a point where your level is high enough for the game to really come into it's own and those initial annoyances really don't factor any more

Actually finished Case 1 now! I basically stocked up on health items and avoided the convicts.

I assume the little 'gap' between the end of Case 1 and the beginning of Case 2 was supposed to be for you to get some more PP, but I'm not really sure how to get much, aside from rescuing survivors.... killing zombies gives you bugger all, and even taking decent photos doesn't add loads. Lvl8 now I think.

Dispite the above, I am enjoying the game... it's just hardly the most accessible game around. I reckon people who aren't quite as 'into' games as us would find this game too hard, it really sorta filters people out, ending up with the kind of person willing to give the game enough of a chance so that it gets enjoyable.

Decent game here, really... but there's a lot of work with the basic structure to make the game more accessible. A game dying for a sequal.

Two-player co-op would be nice too, even if it's offline only.
