I didn't think of that but you must be right How can you complete levels with any characters when some need Force powers, some need guns etc

I've just found ANOTHER glitch And it was ANOTHER game-killer that meant I had to turn it off because I couldn't get any further. And it was ANOTHER 40 minute level

    Level 4 of Episode 6:

Inside a big Complex, there's a door with a Stormtrooper sign. You need to find 4 switches to deactivate a laser. So I get a Stormtrooper helmet and go up to the door...Han Solo's head disappears for a brief second and then comes back. The symbol on the floor has gone (telling me I can use the switch) but the door is still locked. No way to re-use the switch. No way to enter the door. Game over. And this is after collecting over 60000 thingies on that level and several hidden items

Really, really, not happy with this game. I'm going to finish it ASAP and then I'll trade it against another game. It's so buggy and blatantly untested

I haven't had much time to play this as I got it for PS2 (I have much more time for handhelds). It has come out on PSP in the US and I was thinking of ordering it but all this talk of bugs makes me wonder if the UK release wasn't delayed due to a ridiculous amount of bugs in the PSP version.

I'd like to think otherwise but it's beginning to sound likely.

Wish they'd sorted the PC version before releasing it - gave it a shot on my own today and seemed ok. Hooked it up to the HDTV and a second controller so I could play some co-op - big no-no on both fronts, if I choose video options when the computer is running its external display the game crashes back to the desktop. Even manually setting the resolution in the config does nothing so I'm stuck playing at 640x480 with no AA (it seems to ignore the driver) on the HDTV which looks pretty poor.

The control pad options won't seem to save either, I have to redefine the secondary controller every single time and only have ten seconds to do it otherwise it jumps back to the default layout which is really irritating.

Whilst I realise you should expect bugs in a PC game, these ones are pretty much show stoppers - it's a real shame because the game itself as you'd expect is a good laugh. The game worked fine externally for the demo, I don't know what's gone wrong since then.

I just got to the end of level 4 - the
section - on Episode 6. For those who have played this level, you know how frustrating it is. How drawn out and longwinded it is, having to do the same thing repeatedly with each time lasting a little bit longer. Well I got to the end and...

the AT-ST fell into a ditch and it was stuck there. There was no way for me to get it out, therefore I couldn't complete the level. So I have to do it again because this buggy game wasn't tested properly

          Not happy ft:
I had that one, in the end me and my brother used the speeder bikes to crash into the AT-ST and we managed to slowly push it out of the ditch.

I find the fact that this game is bug ridden to be quite ironic. To cut a long story short I had an interview as a tester but didn't get it.To be fair to them however they only had about 4 months to test it.

It's a good game but it's let down my the number of bugs and there is far too much back tracking over the game to unlock the secrets. Overall it doesn't feel as polished as the first game.

I've managed to unlock the 60 gold brick door, and let me tell you now the secret is not worth the effort. Can only hope the 99 gold brick secret is better, also some of the extra require insane amounts of coins to unlock!

All these bugs are on the normal Xbox version.

One bug worth knowing is the Super high jump bug which allows you to access areas you shouldn't normally and makes the game a lot easier.

In order to use it you need freeplay mode, then get a jedi character (Emperor is the best to use) then double jump into the air with their weapon already out and at the top high of the second jump press the attack button, then immediately after press the L or R button to swap character. If done correct the character swap will catapult your character high into the air under your control.

The shadow graphic's on the cars in the 1st level of Star Wars appear as a strange fan shape sticking out of the side of the car.

The game has in level loading points which can cause it to crash. It's crashed on my brother twice now. Which also helps explain the slowdown as well.

We've had character floating in mid air, and coins falling out of the play area.

In the battle of Endor at the six hit switch lift if you move off the switches just as it goes down, the switches and characters will stay in mid air while the lift goes down without them!

The AI is awful and in some cases will not activate key switches forces you to active two player mode. The mushrooms in Dagobah are a key example of this.

A number of characters and their parts are also missing from the mix and match mode and some characters seen ingame aren't playable at all.

In co-op mode you can double collect the same coin if you both grab it at the same time. This only works with coins that fall out of objects.

I also have a feeling that ESB levels 5 & 6 are the wrong way around.

To top it all off as well our copy has a misprinted manual and when my brother contacted Activision for a replacement copy they were as helpful as a lead ballon.

The vehicle sections are pretty rubbish and the controls for them are just crap. Why didn't they stick with the on rails idea used in EP3 in the first game?

The battle of Hoth is just terrible, tow cabling rolling balls just doesn't work.

Also may I say the print of the original star wars films on the DVD's is just an unwatchable blur. Lucasarts should be ashamed for making them release the game at the same time as these naff DVD. The Big DVD set will be next year any way as it's the 30th Anniversary.

Tried level 2 and the same, you cant progress if you havent got force powers.
Personally i think its fu*king sh*t that you cant use any character you want to complete any level, completely makes the point of free play redundantft:.
Can't you change characters in game like the first Lego Stars Wars?

You can take whatever character you've unlocked into freeplay. The game then sets the rest of the characters you can take into that level and you can switch between them at will. At least I was able to in the 360 version.

Well I've had a chance to play a good lot of the PS2 version now. I'm up to Bespin on ESB and, so far, I don't seem to be encountering any of the bugs you guys have. Maybe I've just been lucky. I had no problem with the control in the Hoth battle and, even in Free Play, haven't once yet managed to get stuck. Of course I haven't yet hit RotJ, so that could all change.

                Everything's fine for me.

But...this may be blasphemy to bring up...am I the only person who, for all of my bitching about the prequels, thinks that Eps1-3 make for a better game? I just get the feeling that they were struggling to get the gameplay out of this because there just aren't as many cool characters. Eps1-3 had loads of different Jedi, Sith Lords, droids, non-Jedi blaster people, poxy Gungans and so on. And there were many more actual battles. In spite of what that meant for the films, it makes for more variety in a game.

So far, I think I enjoyed Lego SW 1 better.

Almost forced myself to play this after 2 hours of TDU last night. Really only to check it out and then put it away for a while. Ended up playing the first 2 levels (about 50 mins of play) without even blinking. Thought it was absolutely superb and a right laugh. Sounds stupid, but I wasn't expecting it to be as Star Warsy as it is, it just really gets stuff spot on, with the added humour of everything being in Lego. Very cool so far, and I think this will indeed manage to pull me off of TDU quite regularly.

I was crying at the bit where

the sand dude jumps out and roars in level 2 on A New Hope

I'm with you. I think because the prequels are so crap as films, the game cleverly brought out the really good parts into quality levels. There was also a fair amount of licence (like the level where you control Yoda running around the forest) which no-one really cared about, whereas here they seem to have stuck much tighter to the plots.

I think the game also lacks the pure surprise element of the original, which was a glorious change of pace from many games. The sequel doesn't really bring anything new to it except for a change of backdrop.

Having said that, Han Solo is the man and the bit with Vader bumping around in his Tie Fighter was hilarious.

So far I much prefer the 'original' trilogy setting with Darth Vader, stormtroopers, the Emperor with his electric attack etc. - to me this will always be the proper Star Wars.

That's very true. There was a novelty to the original game and, with the way it ran through the episodes so quickly, it lasted just the right length. With this one, that novelty couldn't help but be reduced somewhat and some of the sections seem unnaturally long - the flight sequences in particular.

Still, I am enjoying it. Amost at the end of RotJ now and, again, I haven't found any bugs. Is it possible that the PS2 version was the 'default' version and that bugs happened as part of the translation to other systems? Or am I just lucky?

I still think it's a shame the PSP version wasn't released here. I think it would make a perfect handheld game exactly as is. I wish they had converted the first game to PSP too. Ah well. Can't have everything, eh?

Of course not, its a Travellers Tales game. Honestly, Lego Star Wars 1 was bugged to **** on the Xbox, so I'm expecting no different with this one. For example, in LSW1, when you left the main hub room and went outside, for about 2 minutes it was fine and then it would freeze! Had to reset the machine each time.

Also, from my daughters experience, A Bugs Life, which they did on the PS1 was bloody awful too. Never in my life had I ever experienced a game save system where you could actually overwrite blocks on other saves on the memory card!! Outrageous for a game for 3+ years! My daughter overwrote my Wipeout 2047 save FFS!

Yep just found this out as well, hold Y(yellow button, 360) and cycle through any of your unlocked characters with L or R.

Apologies to Travelers tales for my earlier comments. Ill slink off into a dark corner now .
