I have only played the demo, but based on that, I wouldnt give it an 8.8. But obviously thats not fair given how I havent played the full game but it still seemed a very very poor game. Bad animations, not pretty to look at, and gameplay just seemed dull to me.

I cant imagine Edge giving it anything more than a 6 to be honest.

I agree, going off the demo, it didnt seem great and of course its limitations didnt help, but I still wanted to play more i.e. I just wanted to freefall from really high. I suppose I just want to play on the engine they've made first and foremost. Am I ill?

Nah, they're obviously bored with this free-roaming bollocks that developers seem to be churning out on tap lately.

The US reviewers obviously got bored rigid with the montonous side-quests, which is enough to put me right off, didn't particular rate the demo either mind.

I'd argue (mainstream) US reviewers get bored of free-roamers whenever they don't involve easily digestable concepts, such as gangsta 'sim' or fantasy 'sim'.

Edge were actually quite praising in the recent preview - Stated that as long as you stick to the tight mission structure and don't just go wandering it's great fun.

I think it's when you start trying to do your own thing that you realise it's a bit of an empty space.

I'm still looking forward to having a play of this - I ordered from Amazon when it was ?30 so not too bothered - I reckon if they do a Just Cause 2 and focus it on 360/PS3 we could be in for something truly stunning.

My copy arrived today and I'm not as amazed as I was with the demo, but it starts off nicely and gets you straight into the action.

I'm not convinced about the handling of the cars now though after playing SR and TDU and in places it seems a little bland.

Any idea how to get the large map up though?

Yeah, Im not too impressed by what I've played so far. Yeah it looks great and is a bit of fun, but I think I was recently spoilt by Saints Row and its great cars. I fear once I've flown a few planes and copters, jumped of them andoff buildings in the city, that'll be it
